2011 came with saddle bags. Looking forward to the new tune- hopefully it's retrofittable to the 10-11's.

http://ashonbikes.com/content/2012-ktm-990-sm-t I had to wait about 6 weeks for mine. Really wish it had shown up a week earlier so I could have taken it to Yellowstone. Hang in there! |

I'm pretty sure the saddlebags have always been standard equipment in the US. Yeah, the $15,399 is tough to swallow seeing that I paid $13,400 out-the-door for a brand new 2010 last November. That's about $11,200 before freight, license, and tax.

2011s were 1399.00 plus freight tax tag and things. My dealer told me its about 1k. It is a steep price but worth it.

Extended rear hugger
Anyone know where I can get an extended rear hugger in the states? Like the skidmark kind? There are several places online to get them but I don't think they ship to the US.
Thanks |

Skidmarx won't ship to the US. They referred me to http://streetfightersbydesign.com their US distributor. I emailed the distributor about pricing and availability but never got a response. However, I later stumbled upon the hugger (superduke) for sale by them on Amazon.
Another option: http://www.simpson-detour.co.uk/Hugg...2-cfc411906c55 And they'll ship to the US. Some find this better looking but installation is trickier than Skidmarx. I ended up making a fender extender out of ABS plastic for $2. http://www.ktmsmt.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3597 Check the accessories forum at ktmsmt.com for more hugger discussion. |

Forgive the double post- I put this on the "what did you do to your KTM today thread" also, but thought it deserved to be here in the 990 SMT thread.
I installed heated grips under the stockers and put in an HID bi-xenon headlight. I put heat shrink on the left handlebar, then used an extra throttle tube size grip to fit over it. Installed the switch in the dash. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
