Last year when I attended a BBQ for the GlobeBusters, my DR and I "parked down the street" as there were so many Beemers I wasn't sure which one I wanted my bike to park next to and "out class."

I'm almost tempted to ride up to Fairbanks with you so we can all rock up to the front door together, and park far away from any offensive dumpsters. I'll definitely come looking for you while you're in Anchorage and maybe I'll even stay home long enough to cook you two a tasty salmon dinner - but not on the barby as mine doesn't work and might still be covered with snow, at the rate we're going.

You and I talked a week or so ago. My son Eli and I are coming up from Minneapolis, will be in Dawson 6/21 and from there we plan to join you for your BBQ at Trails End. We're going to need oil changes and tires by then so it works well for us. I'll call you in the next couple of weeks to order sets of K60s for both bikes ('11 KLR 650, '09 F800GS).

TheCowboy and C5babe will be riding up to D2D from Minnysota and from there we'll stop in Fairbanks for the BBQ before heading on N to Deadhorse. It's nice to know we will not be alone on the road to Deadhorse after D2D.

Me and my wife riding a 1200GS two-up will be at D2D for the first time. Our schedule is wide open after that and we would love to be at Fairbanks for the BBQ and for oil and possibly tire change at the dealership.
Our biggest concern is riding two-up on top of the world highway with road oriented tires. Feedback appreciated.

If it is dry, then it is an easy ride 2 up. If it is wet (more than damp), then wait or take the long way thru Whitehorse.

Last year it was real wet going over and the road was very slick......

Three days later it was dry and like riding on concrete.

I was planning on heading up to Inuvik after D2D but I have lots of time so it would be fun to make a detour to Fairbanks

count me in. headin up solo with plenty o time on my side leaves me no excuse after D2D.....besides to add a little orange into the mix................

Neanderdahl, We'd love to have you join us. We are a KTM-friendly zone as well!

As a matter of fact, I've had a healthy dose of Orange Kool-Aid circulating in my blood as well. (Just don't tell anyone...)

We'll have reserved KTM parking right next to the DR's!
