^ agree. the 1100s has that "something" the new MTS lacks but the 1200 makes up for it when you ask it to get up and go

. I still kinda miss that bike though...

Not much activity here for awhile.........so I will introduce myself as new owner ( I picked up a brand new 09 1100s that was looking for a good home).

As can be expected I eagerly am awaiting spring!

Ok, I'll play. Here's my 620. Bought it wrecked a little over a year ago and have been making it mine ever since.

Picked up the replacemet plastic off flea-bay for pennies along with some Pelican cases. Fabbed up my own bag mounts and picked up the S-A fender and light mounts. Also found a Remus mid-pipe minus the cans on Multistrada.net and modified it to work with some old Kerker cans I had leftover from racing days. Painted her up and have been having a gas ever since!

That's my son on the back after I suprised him at the bus stop after his first day of the school year. (And yes, mom yelled at us both for how he was dressed.

)

Nice work..............what kind of rubber do you have mounted on those rims?

I'm looking at getting a MS1200ST in the spring. The insurance company insists that they will only insure the bike if it has an alarm that incorporates 3 of the following features:-

Immobilizer
GPS tracking
Independent/backup batter
Audible alarm
Motion detection

I can't find the details on the Ducati web site. Does the stock security nominally comply? Or do I need an aftermarket gadget?

Just picked up my new to me 04' 1000 - have a little bit of maintenence to do as the previous owner didn't like to perform any i guess. looks like the clutch master is leaking abit (not to mention all kind of crap in the resevoir) and needs an oil change. I'm not complaining, i picked it up for 4500 bux and it has just over 10k on the clicker. pics to come later today

If there wasn't much maintenance, then you better have a look at those valves!

Not a 100% sure but they look like Shinkos to me, put some on the Wee 2 weeks ago.

No, the stock setup just has an immobilizer. The Ducati Performance alarm has at least the audible alarm and motion detection and is integrated into the existing system.

Be prepared to pay $$$ for your insurance even if you meet these requirements. I know of at least one inmate here who refused to purchase the bike because the cost of insurance was obscene......

P.S. Head over the MultiStrada 1200 thread....this thread is mainly for the older 1000s and 1100s. You'll get more MTS12 junkies chiming in that way.

Yeah, we have two MTS' now. The first one has over 30k miles on it with nary a hitch.

Great bikes indeed. Stay on top of the valve adjustments and belt changes. Carry extra relay's and never touch the electrical system and you have a great bike!
