Advertiser is Big Bucks Auto in Queens.

I know nothing about the dealer. Any input pro/con from you guys about the bike, price, dealer?
Ask again over in the NYC Commuters thread. A ot of the Lon Guyland folks are afraid to venture west of Aqueduct.

Since I'm already littering this thread with a post, here's my Quick Take:

1. Big Bucks is in Briarwood is at the edge of a somewhat less fortunate part of Queens. So that might offer some insight into the type of person who may have previously owned it. And geez, the place is a used vehicle dealer. Are ANY of them truly honest??

2. Why does a four year old bike only have 1500 miles? Seriously, that's just eight or ten fill-ups.

3. Anything can look clean in photos. A little over-exposure makes metal work with three years of salt corrosion look shiny new. And photos don't reveal how often the bike spent bouncing off its rev limiter. This is an urban bike so it may have spent a lot of its life out in the sun and weather.

4. Inspect the bike with particular attention to the condition of the motor, steering bearings, frame, etc. IOW, anything that could have been abused or broken. In addition to all the usual stuff that should be checked, see if the steering stops are where they are supposed to be. Check if the plastics line up. Is the chain properly adjusted and is the stock sprocket there. IOW, was it a stunter. And with that little mileage, are the injectors clogged from rotted gas. Look inside the tank for rust.

Post any replies in NYC Commuters or via PM please.

-Brad
