Wow, what an inspiring ride.
I am so anxious to do a similar trip. I really like how you have so much interaction with the locals.

Still the best!
![]() ![]() ![]() After all these years! Just come back and re-read the whole story. Hope your Vietnam trip go well in 2012. Momi, I would like to see how you deal with the Vietnamese in which case, you won't be able to communicate with them. Opp! I forgot you are Italian ( you use hands). It was funny you mentioned, "Italian women is a dictator at home" I know it very true, I marry to one for 30 years. ![]() Eggroll |

Ok I'm not really accurate during my vacations to keeping count of expenses, but more or less this is the final amount of money Visas (Russia, Uzbekistan Kazakhstan Kyrghigstan) ------------------------------------------= 350 $ Food, sleep, fuel, souvenirs, mechanic, nightlife ecc...-------------------------------------------= 900 $ Fly back for my bike from Tashkent (Uzbekistan) to Milan (Italy) --------------------------=1450 $ Fly back for me from Tashkent (Uzbekistan) to Milan (Italy)---------------------------------= 250 $ Total-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------= 2950 $ more or less my vacation on 2009 ( http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=536558) was less expensive, cause I started and went back overland, with the bike and tha total was 2.547$=1.770€ here you can see my 2009 trip map ![]() |

omg, it would be cheaper if you returned by motorcycle... lol... 900 dollars for food, fuel and sleep is really not too much... but with my bike it would be much more for fuel, i ride XTZ 750... all in all - great... smth to think about... :)

I think the same and another factor is that with my bike with one gallon of fuel you can drive for 65/67 miles

thats what im talking about :)
tell me, how many liters of fuel your bike spend for 100 km? im really not into gallons and miles :( another thing, didnt the vibrations drive you mad? it is one cylinder, so it gotta shake a lok... did you have aches and stuff? when me and my wife were traveling to seaside on super tenere, wich is two cylinders and comfortable bike, we had to stop after an hour, or hour and half to take a brake, to rest our backs... how much did you drive without rest? |

Beatuiful report!
![]() I haven't been to Central Asia since 2007, but travelled there quite a bit in the years before. It's an interesting place, and people are great. Your way of travel is the best way to find that out!

Thanks. I think that travelling in a cheap way allows you to stay very close to the real/normal life of a country.
