ADVers at Addction Motorcycles ...

The John Ryan, Melissa Holbrook Pierson, Christina Shook, Ed Milich literary event was a big sucsess, with maybe 100 people and quite a crowd of ADVers in attendance ...

Nixels giving away the cool schwag, and Christina Shook posing for Super Suz ...

Becky, Larryboy, Kallehof, Bicycle Phil and Benjava ... Holding down the back row ... Some things never change ...

And ADVer Puddles with future ADVer Elisabeth, who is Jennifer Brome's and Ed Milich's little girl ... Jen owns Werk Statt here in SF ...

Carrizo Plains and Las Padres National Forest Ride March 16th, 17th and 18

Hey Gang,

March 16th is almost here so I wanted to give you some updates.

Here is the ride info

March 16th- Get yourself to (Jill and I are trucking up afterwork along with maybe Cain if he does not ride with Mike or Ian)

CAPRICE MOTEL
222 KERN ST
TAFT, CA 93268
Phone: (661) 765-2161
The hotel is $60 per night there are 2 other hotels in Taft also.

March 17th- We will leave from Caprice Motel (kick stands up) at 9:30am . there is gas in Taft
we will ride 113 miles of easy dirt to a 24 hour gas station.. fill up and ride another 38 miles to camp. The camping will be primitive with just a firepit. Bring Food, Water and Beverage of Choice.

March 18th- We will pack up and leave about 10am and ride 117 more miles of easy dirt and a bit of pavement for a total of 151 miles on the Gastank. Then Ride 40 more to the truck.. (I will have shorter routes put in as a fallback because 190 miles in a day is alot)

For Jill and I about 80% of this ride we have already done. You can see our tracks if you look at this in mapsource, we know that the riding is easy. We have done numbers 1,2,and 4 (section 3 is new for us but I looked at in on a paper map and its not marked as hard)

Please let me know if you plan on going

Lets keep an eye on the weather also.. if it rains 5 days prior or less then we will need to postpone the ride because of mud.

Thanks,

Paul and Jill..

Also.. this gps track will not be the final version.. the route will stay the same but I am going to shorten sundays ride as an alt and throw in some other smaller offshoots

Has anyone been following this thread? http://www.bayarearidersforum.com/fo...d.php?t=394532

It seems to be gaining speed and looks, weather permitting, like it could be fun. I know we had some rain recently, but I'm not sure what effect it's had up north near/around the lake.

Looks great but I'm going to head-up to Snow Mountain to get in a little more dirt. If anyone's interested here's a link to the loop. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=649879

Yup. Just sayin, it's in the window of something coming.

Sounds like an interesting ride, Paul. I might be interested, but not sure if I can make the dates work. I'll let you know if I can.

Hey Paul,
We're having trouble getting that file (paul and jill complete) to load in google earth. I'm sure it's something on our end.

Any chance you can give me the waypoint for the campground? Or the name?
Matt and I are talking about death valley next week and the timing might work out for our way home. We would try and catch you in Taft and ride with you guys on the 17th.

Our plans aren't solid yet (hoping that james gets our suspension work done by friday) but we're a definite "maybe."
kelly
P.S. Hey Rob, why don't you and Becky hop on the zombie and come down for this? Becky was talking about a 2up ride...

Hey Paul, does Klipstein rd have a gate on it? I saw another track, maybe yours that only goes part way? GE makes it look all good?
