OK, here she is, I hope I'm doing the photo thing right.. PO put clipons, round headlight, and the front brake master cyl/lever assembly is from a rd400 or something and has the brake light wires cut :X, cut hole in airbox to put foam filters on.. Got some work to do but I'd say its a pretty good start :)

Hey guys, does anyone know where to get a replacement jet for the secondary on the carb? I can find replacement pilot & main jets for the primary, but nowhere are replacement secondary jets still available. I tried boats.net & ronayers both said it was discontinued. Any leads would be awesome!

You might want to ask over in "thumpers" in the XT350 thread. I think some guys were getting their jets from Kedo in Germany?

Thanks, I asked over in the othe thread also, and the also recommended Kedo. I sent them an email and got a response this morning:

Hi Jon,

sorry, but since the SRX250 has never been sold in Germany we do not stock spare parts for this motorcycle.
BTW: 30X-14343-40 is ( as far as we know ) no longer available from Yamaha.

SRX250t jetting solution

I've been waiting a long time for this issue to surface, read and enjoy. There are NO jets available for the srx250t, the solution, drill em out. Here's how to make this bike run like it should. Drill the idle jet with a number 78 drill, drill the primary main jet with a number 54 drill, leave the secondary main jet stock. Use washers the move the needles up, primary up .070", secondary up .105", you may need to change this to suite your conditions. I see a different muffler on your wife's bike so there may need to be some adjustment to these numbers. Adjust the linkage between the two carbs so there is no progression, ie they both open at once. It's easy to see, just study the linkage and use the adjustment screw. The bike will now pull a one tooth (15t) larger counter shaft sprocket (Sunstar p/n 34615 from Parts Unlimited) with ease. I will gladly driil the jets for you, just email me and we can arrange.

I was able to buy a new #125 primary main jet (#122 stock) and a #42 pilot jet (#35 stock). Are these too big/too small? What are your thoughts?

I'm running the #42 pilot (stock XT350) and it helps the bike warm up quicker. Mix screw is roughly 2 1/2 turns out. Other than that everything else is stock. Stock airbox with universal cut-to-fit UNI filter and stock exhaust.

The bike runs well enough when fully warm, but I still have a little stumble right off idle. One of the carb to airbox boots is hard and crusty so I might have a leak there. Since that part is also deemed OBSOLETE by Yamaha I'll try sealing with a little silicone.


Brooklyn- What other changes have you made? Pipe? Filters?

The rest of the bike is stock right now. I'd like to keep it as stock where I can. Yea, I got the 42 pilot jet from the stock xt350 What main jet do you run? How did you remove the brass plug over the pilot screw?

I'm running stock mains.

Carefully drill the brass plug, be ready to pull up once you're through or you could damage the screw underneath! Then thread a self tapping screw into the plug and pull with vice grips.

I put the carb back together with new diaphragms, larger main & pilot jets, and new float bushing & needle. It still runs poorly with choke off, will die often when you give it throttle. I found airleaks at the choke plunger and one of the intake boots. I ordered a new plunger & boots online, HOPEFULLY this will fix the issues. I also still need to tweak the pilot screw.
