My wife and I have been considering that type of a rig, and through looking at this website, I learned that there's a National Rally for these small fiberglass camper rigs this coming July, in Bandon...a mere 30 miles South of us!!! Most EXCELLENT!!!

We'll get to check out different brands, layouts, constructions, and of course...$$$$. Plus we'll be able to talk to the different owners to hear the pros & cons of each one as well.

Apparently, there were 112 different trailers at last year's gathering.

My camper is still a paper dream, but hopefully one day it will all work out. I must say I am shocked at the cost of windows and the like... having said that if you were to build a bike or car from spares it would cost five times more than it does. But that doesn't make it right.

I'm actually suprised that I hadn't found this thread earlier, as I'm a huge fan of small campers and alternative living spaces.

in addition to the teardrop we used to have, we also had this...

A Trav-Lite motorcycle camper...



and after we sold that and the teardrop I showed earlier, we got ourselves the ultimate motorcycle camper...

A Kwik-Kamp!!! This thing is so stinking cool!!! We love it!!!


I can set it up in 3 minutes flat, (without help), even less time with the wife helping, it has a queen sized mattress, and has 6' 8" of headroom!!!

And the cargo space is outstanding!!

Very cool! I watched the video and noticed that the whole rear end opens up. Wonder if it's tall enough to fit a DS bike in the back if that bed were able to fold out of the way. Mini Toy hauler :)

Bullard's Beach!

My mom, sister, and I camped there in '78 after she moved back to Colorado from Bandon. We bought tons of cheese, crab, and some friends of hers from Bandon brought a pair of Honda Odyssies so my sister & I could get busted by park personnel.

Cool place.

RVs like this have been made in Canada for 30 yrs. Do a search on Bigfoot, Scamper, Trillium, and another but I can't remember it. Without actually striking the thing with a sledgehammer they're nearly indestructible and never leak. Some mid 80s models can be had for less than 3k.

Some of the exact reasons why we're seriously considering one!

another is the light weight so we can pull it with our Sonoma Pick-up. (if we can get it back from our daughter in college!!)


plus...I kin still throw the Yamabean bike in the truck and bring it along for the fun too!
