I will be there the 25th, 26, and 27th. I'm not looking to do 5MOH. Perhaps something more intermediate. I haven't been up Gold Bar Rim, but that was always fun on a mountain bike. Once up top, it is a huge playground.

Pariahtize, I hope your shoulder heals up well. My shoulder is not 100% either.

I have heard great things about taking Silica for tears.
Heal fast. The desert awaits.

I'll stop in for some silica then. . . thanks! Are you out for sure now (wknd of 24th)?

Tilt, we'll keep this thread updated (pretty sure I'll be making it for some riding) and we'll make plans/exchange numbers next week.
Myls, same with you if you're going to be around still.

thump, I wish I were a man of few words (they're always the cool ones), but I'm not, and don't have any plans. But yes, wussitis is one of my many symptoms Dagnabit it hurts!
Glad you're game for more moderate stuff. . . we'll just take the hardest lines on the moderate trails. There's another trail just off the exit on the south side of 70, somewhere past Westwater. . . I don't know the name and can't recall the exit, but it's a ST trail with an actual TH and parking. Any idea? Thought that'd be a good one to explore on the way out maybe?
Hope your bike'll be ready - talk soon.

I dont know about my bike? Waiting to hear the diagnosis... It runs, just started making bad noises. Does not make them when idling.
Also, I may be getting arm surgery soon. Exertional Compartment Syndrome. If so, ill be up for mellow riding only for a month or so. No falling allowed! dont worry, ill take pictures....

About your trail south of I70.
There is a trail head at the exit after RV. It leads to Mel's loop. Good stuff. Sandy whoops and single track.
This leads to another secret trail that goes under I70 at mile marker 219(no exit). It leads 10 miles north to the infamous Thompson Trail. Great trail, one of the best ive ridden.

I'm going out on the 23rd, hopefully early

Okay, I'm going out, and will be riding the more moderate stuff for a few days. . . . Would like to do the Mel's Loop as Silverboy described above on the 23rd (afternoon)?

Any who can make it post up or pm me.

Thump-co, I hope your bike is coming along ok?
Silverboy?
Tilt2Turn, let me know your plans?
Mylsck, can you send your # so we/I can call you if you're still interested in leading us around for a day?
Others?

I'm itching to get out there! Looks like the weather is holding so far -

I will arrive in Moab Sunday morning. After that, I am willing to ride as far as my (stock) gas tank allows. I don't have any set plans for riding a particular trail, but I'm sure as it gets closer, there will be a better idea of what ride is happening on Sunday. I was originally planning on being there a week, but my Mom decided to get married at the end of the month, so three days of riding.

I just did the water pump fix on my DRZ, and it held up on the test ride. Now it is me that needs to get into riding shape.

I'm out.
I hate saying that! Bike is still in the Moto hospital. Should be out of surgery next week.

Fingers crossed!

This is looking unlikely for me as well. Work has pretty much crushed my week.

Oh shit, all alone out there in the big desert and "Capt. Kirk" is lurking.
Yeah, great time to bail on me guys.
A Mountain Guide eh? As in Mt. Hood and Rainier, or Denali and k2? Or maybe hiking in the La Sals?

I've a friend who's going to join for some riding until Monday night - -then his wife and kids are coming out, and that's when I leave to the SSRS.

Good luck on yer bike Silverboy - i know how it is to wait impatiently.
thump_co, if you need me to send your Principal a tardy slip, let me know - did you get that bike back together?

We'll see ya'll later in the season.

It's always good to ride with a local - I could be out early afternoon (sounds like my bike will be ready - Progressive Ins kicks ass in their response time!). Was considering hooking up with some of the others in Moab on Sat (and then meeting a buddy somewhere early Sat eve for 2 days of riding).

PM me your cell#?
