As long as the new Tiger 1050 gets some decent lamps upfront..
My bicycle has better lighting.

This bike exists already, it's called the R1200R. Nothing more than a short GS with sport tires.

I'm sort of curious to see what they come up with and what they change on this bike. If they keep the riding position upright and a better handling 2-up bike I will be interested.

1) better lights ( I'm sure this will be fixed)
2) suspension (I think they allready upgraded this)
3) SSSA (really like this on the speed triples,so easy to change tires)
4) the rear end ( the up in the air rear seat is what I hated, make it more like the 800's)

I really liked the 800 (Roadie) but for me thought it might be alittle weak in the 2-up department, wish it had the 1050 motor in it.

Wanted to like the current Tiger 1050 but didn't, maybe the changes will do it for me I'm still looking to buy in 2013-14 so have plenty of time to wait and see.

Like what I see so far on X12 but price is high for me and could be overkill, I don't need 137hp or shaft drive,TC and all the electronics I don't really need either. A fuel and trip gauge is all I'll ever use ,cruise control would be nice but there are cheap ways to get around that.

I really thought the Tiger 1050 would disappear after the X12 came out so this could save me quite a bit of money if they make the right changes on the 1050.

2013 Tiger 1050 SPORT

New headlights, suspension, single-sided swing arm, brakes and perhaps more power.
MCN has all the photos.

It's funny how MCN gets all the Triumph spy pics scoops!! What a recurring coincidence.

Not much to the linky (have o subscribe I guess) but my 1050 Tiger was my all-time favorite bike. If what you're saying is true, I know what my next scooter will be...

Triumph's test mules are notoriously hidious at best. This bike doesn't look all that bad, even in test livery.

The frame appears identical to the current 1050 Tiger frame - perhaps it's strong enough to support the single-side swingarm.

Triumph is on top of their game right now.. I, for one, hope they keep it up.

There might be a clue in the their multi-bike comparisons.
You can see the checks sticking out of their pockets.

Just ran across this thread while searching for other stuff (sorry for rehashing a two-month old thread). Funny, because my searching was for trying to decide between buying a new Sprint GT or Ninja 1000 (with luggage). I absolutely love my Tiger 1050 I've had for 4 1/2 years, but it's time to move on.

Now.......I'm thinking I'll hold onto it for another year and see what happens. I'm wanting something sportier, but kept going back and forth with the Sprint and N1k, weighing pros and cons.

Hmmm.

Latest interweb rumour has an all new Speed Triple 1100 coming out this year, based on the new 1200 Tiger motor. The new Trophy is a given. So the Tiger sport could be a bitsa to use up 1050 motors (they don't pass the next gen of emissions tests) and Speedy cycle parts. Should be very keenly priced then..
