It won't be me. When I saw them in Dallas last year, my price guess was $25-30k and I was still a thousand short. They're nice bikes but at that price, nowhere near competetive with other offerings for someone who buys their bikes to ride. Yeah, I like to ride something that's a bit different from the crowd, but Guzzis do that for me for a lot less.

oh and just to show how duplicitous I am, the connie 14 is a beast with similar numbers too..... Albeit it's nowhere near as cool as the motus.

Nobody is paying M.S.R.P. on a new ST1300.I have seen those advertised in LA going for 10900 and 13900 OTD...
Not that I would buy one but too me the ST1300 looks like the the closest competitor to the MOTUS,or the MOTUS a american version of the ST1300 but with sporty chaindrive for the well off 1%ers...

You're wrong. The ST1300 has a very heavy emphasis on TOURING with very little sporting character. It's closer to a Gold Wing than it is to the Motus. If Honda makes anything remotely close to the MOTUS it is the VFR. While I'm sure it is a great motorcycle (haven't ridden one), I don't think anyone interested in the MOTUS will abandon it in favor of a VFR.

The "rumor" came from the fact that MOTUS repeatedly stated that the pricing would be "competitive with similar offerings from Ducati and BMW," hence the speculation that low to mid $20K would be reasonable to expect (and even generous, given the price of the Multistrada).
