Well, what does one say to that??

I have been a long time lurker on this forum, and occasional poster, and I came back to the fold after a long absence.
Then I read this post, not entirely, but enough to get the gist..,

Man - you ARE inspirational, what an attitude!! I have been an army sniper in my previous life here in Australia, and seen a lot lf bad shit, done a lot of bad shit, and thought I was pretty hard. But when I read this post, tears just welled up in my eyes and I couldnt stop them, didnt want to stop them - wept unashamedly!

I take my hat off to you Dale - to all you para's and quad's here on the forum - all of you. Such depth of spirit and such richness of life, and such amazing accepttance and willingness to just get on with it!! Man, I dont mind saying Dale, I wish I was a little more like you!!

Anyway Dale, what I mean to say is, even though you may never throw your leg over another bike again, and have the freedom and enjoyment of riding it to some far off place, know that every time I throw my leg over my bike, you are with me, and every experience, good or bad, is your experience - I willingly send it to you my brother!!

I wish you every happiness, and a long and fruitful life, but please understand it is YOU sir, who hav enrichened our lives, it is YOU sir, who make us realise how truly blessed we are to be of whole body and mind, and it is YOU sir, who makes us feel ever so humble and grateful to have read this post, and to have posted here!!

We might have saved your life Dale, but YOU sir, have saved our souls - and for that I am eternally grateful!!

Wow, a post to Dale's thread. Just today at lunch I was telling someone who I saw texting in their truck about Dale and how if the driver who hit him was paying attention he would be walking today. Surprisingly I didn't yell at her and she agreed not to do it again.

Lost a friend last fall to someone who hit him while he was putting out cones around an accident. He was a state worker and I believe dressed in his yellow safety clothing. Go figure. Must have been texting too.

I think everyone who sees someone texting while driving should give them the finger and then mimic the texting pose. Maybe they'll get the message that they are just wrong to be doing that. Social pressure is a powerful thing if we all do it. Please post the idea elsewhere. Thanks, Bear
