KTM freeride 350 or Scorpa T-ride or OSSA explorer

Im really thinking about one of these 3 bikes. I love tight single track and also have started doing a little trials. Does anyone know anything about any of these bikes? It looks like the Scorpa & the OSSA are coming to the US. I cant find anything about the freeride 350 coming or not. From what I see the OSSA looks the most trials and the KTM look the most trail so I think the Scorpa is some where in the middle. Let me know your thoughts.

I'm sure the Ossa will be the better trials bike by far, if thats of interest to you.

Since the OSSA is two stroke I kind of doubt that you will be able to plate it in most US states, but it's light weight interests me the most - it is a good 20 kg or 44 pounds (claimed) lighter than the KTM, and IMO that makes a big difference in a dirt bike, especially of this kind.

Why plate it? Because there are a lot of off-road areas where you just can't legally ride unless the bike is plated.

What states do you know of that outlaw 2 strokes?

Instead of waiting for unobtanium, why not just buy an EXC200? They are strong running, maybe 220 pounds in dual sport trim and easy to plate in most places. If you want trials grunt just swap on an FMF Gnarly expansion chamber. Then maybe add a Rekluse clutch and skid plate to go rock crawling.

Not that both the Freeride and the Ossa aren't calling out to me, because they are. I'm saying you could do about the same now for way less money with a decent used EXC 200 and a little work. That kind of bike is exactly what my MXC200 is morphing into.

IL. Well not just 2 strokes but if it says "Off Road use only" it can not get a plate. Are there any 2 stroke street bikes any more? Yes some people get lucky and get a DMV person that doesn't care and give out a plate. But I have heard of the state taking back plates too.

I was looking at a 390 Berg but is not worth the risk to me.

OSSA Explorer is coming to Canada in June. They intend to make it street legal here. Probabl;y the same for the states. Its built on the same engine and design as their TR280i trials bike. Basically if you already ride a trails bike and you want it street legal trials bike, the OSSA Explorer is it. It weighs 163 lbs.
