Headlights have been ordered. You'll have to wait until the weekend to see what I've decided upon. All I can say is that they're bright and I didn't cheap out.

Just ordered a spring from Cannon. 15.0kg/mm in lime green. I was considering ordering the progressive spring for the road star that goes from 825lb to 1250lb but I'm not overly familiar with progressive springs for off road use.

I weigh in at about 160, so with gear and no passenger, I'm under 200lbs. Anyone think 15.0 was a bad choice?

After a little thinking, I realized that if I switch the two spacers on the right side I would be able to use the caliper spacer idea jdrocks showed below. Right now I have a nut on each side as the spacer but this weekend I will cut out the spacer as shown. Thanks jdrocks(again)

Yea, I'm sure there will be some revisions to the bike as I go along. This weekend I just want to get it on the road/dirt.

Well this weekend the dirt ninja got its maiden voyage. I rode from Philadelphia to Rahway, NJ. Once I got there, I proceeded to lengthen the kickstand, make a spacer for the rear caliper, and mount the front fender. I cobbled the stock headlight back on without the stock headlight cowling just so I could ride it home. Sadly my 8" baja designs headlight failed to be delivered(what part of leave by garage, I am home do you not understand FEDEX?)

I then met rode with 2 friends to the Deleware water gap to go camping...we ripped down some fire roads. All I can say is, this bike is awesome. The R1 shock is obviously too soft, new spring is on the way. Next weekend more work will get done. I do think I am going to mod the swingarm to allow more adjustment of the rear wheel.

Pics to follow

Looks killer, glad you got it rolling.

Congrats

When is the WV rally? Maybe I'll roll down there to meet up

The WV rally is the last weekend in July. See www.rallywv.com for details. I'd be happy to ride there with you.

The fender is a universal SM fender from polisport. It was under $10 from motorcycle superstore, fit perfectly, and required no drilling, the mounting plate adjusts. There will be some more green on the bike. My spring is going to be black, sadly. Might do the crash bars lime green.

Well the ugly way I have the stock headlight mounted will be gone this weekend. My 8" Baja Designs headlight arrived last night, it is beautiful. Hopefully my spring/mirrors will arrive as well.

Great looking build, sounds like it handles good too. What kind of mods do you have in mind for the swingarm?

my intent is to cut some clearance away at the brace in front of the tire, then weld a plate over it.

Pics will arrive tonight. Yesterday I mounted the headlight and aux lights. Today I will mount the ignition and cluster. Then either mod the swingarm for more wheel clearance or build crash bars.

Headlight/aux lights are all mounted. Gauges are mounted. Mirrors put on. Still need to figure out what I am going to do with that huge ignition. It was dangling under the bike and I kind of forgot about it. I need to find someone to swap my springs also so I can put the R1 shock back on.
