Love the red frames!
How is Bryson doing this morning? Pete, Barley, Tullamore and Kazoo (And those wonderful companions who live on in my heart: Tadcaster, Tetley, Tuppence the Wonderbitch, Molson, Killian Red, Cosette, Mercedes, and Glenfiddich: Prince of Dogs)

SWMBO (aka SidecarSunshine) insisted that he get red frames to match her red Ural. "Yes, Honey."
Bryson seems to be doing a lot better. We seemed to have pinned it down, and today he drug some toys out for the first time in a week. A ride this afternoon is definitely in order.

OK, lets see if the embed works. I put the GoPro on the hack for Bryson's ride today. This was his first run out of our immediate neighborhood. My neighborhood is basically two streets, both courts. I've been working with him by just going end to end over and over again. Today we got him into unfamiliar territory. He stood up twice, which scared the crap out of me. We've got to work on that one.

Good dog.
Looks like he's really getting the hang of it. Little bit at a time. Good to see your Ural back on the road. Did your wife make you color coordinate the doggles with Boris?

On the program Dogs 101 yesterday, they did a show about Jack Russells and mentioned a very interesting and true story about one. Seems there is this veteran who had a Jack Russell who passed away. The fellow was in a state of depression and just didn't love anything or anyone for quite a while after that. Well, one day when he was at the park he saw some white speck come running to him. It was a Jack Russell that was aparently abandoned by it's owner. The Vet took it to the pound and waited a few weeks to see if anyone claimed the dog. No one did, so he took it home and developed a loving relationship with the dog. Immediately, he snapped out of his depression and life was again good. When walking his new dog at a local VA cemetary one day, the dog suddenly started pulling very hard on his leash. In fact, so hard that the owner had to let him pull him to where he wanted to go. The dog ran to a covered up headstone and began nudging all the leaves and twigs off the headstone. To the owner's amazement, the name on the headstone was Jack Russell. They actually showed this on the television show, too. It was really fun to watch and learn about the breed, as I have a wire hair Jack Russell, naned Dusty, who is a rescue dog. She is the perfect hack pooch pal for my Bichon, Murphy. I am very blessed to have them both as riding partners. http://www.flickr.com/photos/a1930ford/6830639718/

Here's my thread contribution with my pooches. We're still in the "experimental familiarization phase," but the rig is already setup for canine safety. The red Australian Shepherd is going on 3yrs of age now. She was the one I was worried about sitting and staying in the sidecar because she is such a hyper, crazy dog ("high energy" doesn't even begin to describe her.).
![]() The other test subject is my younger (16 month) Newfoundland/Bernese-mix. He's a bit more mellow, and at a 100-plus pounds (and growing)--and the size and resemblance of a small cow--he would look very handsome in the rig. Problem being....despite sitting (backward) in the sidecar photo where I nearly strained my back, the dog won't get in the tub even with treats (and he loves his treats!). He's afraid of everything. ![]() Meanwhile, the Aussie jumps in readily and is ready to go. Test rides around the neighborhood confirmed that my brave, red-headed girl is an easy convert to sidecar transportation. And now we order the doggles. |
