Perhaps a can of HTFU may be cheaper than a gel seat

Thanks for the feedback fellas. Surprised and dissapointed at such a large diff in price betw here and the US. Mind you, we get plenty of that down here in Aussie.

Maybe just buy a gel mousepad and sit on that for a while to see if it works for you. IIRC, someone on the UK board cut open a OEM get seat, and the gel portion wasn't very big or deep.

Gel Seat
When I was looking at getting a Wee, I asked the dealer (old school, family owned, single marquee m/c dealership) about the gel seats. He said they were great, BUT not really for Las Vegas. They REALLY are fantastic heat sinks. Keep the desert summer sun off them, and you won't toast your tail.
IF you vehicular - sun relationship isn't similar to Las Vegas, then it won't be an issue. IF you know people who have gotten 1st degree burns on their legs from slipping into a leather clad car seat that's been out in the sun while wearing shorts, it may be an issue.

Scratch teh mousepad idea, wrist supports are gel, but pads are not.

Gel seat

So I got the gel driver's seat and think the best part is how nice the stitching and color contrast look on the gel. It's a bit of an upgrade from stock in the comfort department in my opinion but I'm glad I did it. A farkle budget may beg to differ. I'm sure mileage varies. Homemade

OR try some gel bicycling shorts as a test run. $30-$40 to experiment. |

A survival upgrade might be a kickstand switch protector. You bust that and it won't start. I ordered one from
Touratech. As for the banging and clattering, I suspect it's the side stand and center stand. For the center stand try gluing some hard rubber bumpers to the bottom of the swing arm on both sides--the side stand--it is what it is ! Mud on the shock ? The available huggers are too close to the rear wheel for off road. Make your own hugger by being resourceful. Get some flat plastic. Get a black plastic 5 gallon bucket, some 3/16 or1/4 clear vinyl, some flat aluminum, pop rivets and 2 small bolts with nuts. The vinyl pops to the front underside of the rear fender (there is a flat spot there). Cut a piece from the bucket to make a short hugger that fits-5"-6" long, bend it a little with heat for shape. Get a flat piece of plastic and shape it to fit on the swing arm bolted down with the ABS tube bolts. Fasten the hugger to the flat plastic with bent aluminum and pop rivets. Bolt the hugger, also, to the chainguard via a shaped piece of aluminum and pop rivets. This works, you'll just have to work out how to make in by sitting beside the bike and looking at the situation. thank you for YOUR ideas. |

Hey Cap'n Roostertail
You ever coming back to Boise? My current riding partner's bike is in the shop indefinitely. It should be Owyhee time soon as these rainstorms end.

Why didn't you post the video? It looks like a lot of fun. I ride a lot of sand but it's always real dry & deep.
