jesus christ. I thought I at least was under 500lbs with the thing
Someday I might see how much of the bike I can replace with carbon fiber. Maybe I will ditch my pannier mounts for a giant loop. Though I feel like those things add some protection to my exhaust.

Here is what I've noticed about these bikes. They have a way of making one think that scales lie. Drop her into gear, let out the clutch and a 150lbs disappear.

That is a neat photo. If you ever meet the photographer who took it.. you should buy him a beer.

They are
![]() I could've swore I read the weight on these was around 500 lbs. Maybe that's was a dry weight. Oh well. It feels lighter then my 650 v-strom which was 490 lbs loaded and farkled, atleast when riding. Picking it up is another matter .

My '04 with full tanks and stock mufflers, but without tools, racks, guards, or farkles of any kind, weighed 500 lb.
BTW, truck scales weigh in 20 to 50 lb increments, so they don't really tell you much about a bike.

500 pounds sounds like a lot, when you're used to the feather weight KTM dirt bikes.
In comparison to other bikes, it starts looking light. I had an `09 KLX250 supermoto, it was a little over 300 pounds. I got it for my wife and she made a comment about it being a light bike - the I explained that my KTM450 weighed 25 pounds less. The other big sport touring bikes are heavy suckers too. Far heavier than the ADV. I think it was said best, as long as it's on 2 wheels, it'll feel light.

Weight Info loaded for the long haul, camping, spares, food, water, gear, gone for 70 days and 17,000 miles.
These are all 2006 950 adventures and put on the scales the day we arrived back from our trip. They sure never felt that heavy, unless I was picking mine up which I did plenty of. 1-550lbs with 3 gallons fuel (950 S running Wolfman Luggage) ![]() 2-607lbs with 4 gallons fuel (950 running cjdesigns hard boxes) ![]() 3-662lbs with 3 gallons fuel (AWD 950 S running cjdesigns hard boxes, aluminum fuel tanks, and a warn winch)

I dropped it today on the freaking down going of the 35 degree incline driveway. I am pretty sure it weighs about 1000 lbs to my scrawny arms :/
