Sliders & rollers & weights OH MY ! Kymco 250 X-iting

Hey all, after many years riding, I decided to give scootering a shot, so I picked up an 06 Kymco 250 x-iting. In reading a lot of posts I notice a lot of variator, clutch, spring, and weight changes, rollers to sliders etc. The 250, according to many, is somewhat of a lump. I don't know any different as I've only spent time on old Vespas, and a new Stella. Question being, is there an improved setup over stock that can do it all? Or should I just keep ridin, and smilin, cause this sumbitch is fun.
