You've tried calling them, right? Email is not even worth trying. I call them in the early or mid afternoon (german time) and have no trouble getting Klaus 3/4 of the time. He doesn't typically work 5 days a week, but he's there a lot. Just go into it with plenty of patience and persistence.

I almost forgot. I asked about the boots and they're plastic, not rubber. Sorry.

Thanks for looking into that-
I'm thinking of trying these ones
http://www.daystarmx.com/productdeta...?productID=932
not rubber but "the longest lasting fork boots on the market" "made from a premier Poly-Vinyl material"
If they are selling them that hard they can't be complete rubbish can they?

Bike is look great btw. Looking forward to some more progress.

You gonna take some time off back in CONUS to receive/assemble all the bits when they arrive Spencer?

I bet you're starting to get the itch for this thing. Very exciting stuff man. I'm envious.

That's the plan. I'll be home for a week in July which will be a marathon engine/bike building session in which I hope to at least get it ridable. I'll be back in Seattle again for a wedding in September after which I'll ride it back down to Mexico.

My big motobins order finally arrived. Siebenrock cylinder kit, heavy duty oil-proof clutch, spring and carrier, a gasket set, a mountain of fasteners and rubber stuff. Now I just need a frame.

3/12 - fresh out da Mahle factory

Siebenrock makes parts so precise you want to make sculptures out of them..wish I had taken pictures of the 1070 kit. Pure art.

I just got the invoice from HPN and hope to get a wire transfer through this week. That'll make just under a year and two months. Pretty much what I expected. Happily, this payment just happens to coincide with a near 2 year low for the euro. That'll take a bit of the sting out of it.

Ontic - so far so good on the Italian Ariete gaiters are working well on our two bm's. No signs of "*allards quality" imploding here! Still supple and with my 20 extra holes I've added per boot, they look like they may last (some years).

Mmmmm shiny Siebenrock jugs!

HPN shipped all my pieces yesterday, so they should arrive in Seattle in a couple weeks. For those who are curious, they received my parts on 4/21/11 and shipped them on 7/11/12 which makes for a working time of just under a year and 3 months. A long time to be sure, but less than I was planning on, so I'm happy. I'll be back in Seattle the first 2 weeks of September to throw everything together. The goal is to have it ridable and plated by the end of the trip and maybe put 1000 or so miles on it. Maybe not everything will be finished or totally dialed in, but it'll at least be functional. The next vacation I get after that I'll fly home and ride it back down to Mexico. I might have to persuade my parents to take photos of everything when it arrives. I don't think I can wait until September. Gotta "make sure nothing was damaged in transit," right?
