If I were lookign for a later model this is the one I would buy assuming it checks out in person..

Two good choices, I've been looking at KSL but under dirt bikes. Thank you!

The Wedge - routing advice...?

Has anyone ridden this route to the Wedge? It was

It was suggested by a friend, and the goal here is for someone riding from Denver/Grand Junction to take a side trip on a more interesting ride that US6. Most riders will be on bigger bikes, with camping gear... so the goal is to avoid stuff that is overly difficult.

Thanks for any advice or other suggestions.

You could drive your grandma's cadillac through that section.

There's a trials event this sat near elberta. I was out setting the sections today and will be out again tomorrow. It Should be a good time. Come by and say hi or better yet come compete. Its only $5 for first timers and you can ride a dirt bike. Heck I'll even let you ride some sections on my gas gas.

I'm sorry I'm missing this one. I was excited to see what kind of course Frog would come up with but for some stupid reason I'm doing the knolls knockout race. At least my trials bike will be attending. Give em hell fano, and don't destroy my Sherco's tranny ;)

Davis County Update

Thought this might bring a tear to the eye of all you BMW owners out there.

BMW of Salt Lake closed their doors about 2 weeks ago . The sign on the door says they are out of business and to go visit BMW of Utah for all of your Bavarian Motorad needs.
My thoughts, after they gave up KTM in '07, they just weren't cool enough to stay in business. Bummer, as they were within walking distance of my work, made for convenient tire changes and such.

Davis County Update #2

Explored the Bountiful foothills on Friday. Headed up North Canyon to see how far I could make it heading to Mueller Park. A little muddy in spots, with a few patches of snow. Made it about a mile up past the start of the single track trail till I hit this obstacle (which was insurmountable without a good chainsaw).

Photobucket

The Aprilia was rocking, what a nice afternoon for a ride
Photobucket

After North Canyon, hit some rocky terrain just to the north, lost two plastic radiator guards and my license plate. I guess it's time to rig up a better solution than the exposed tidy tail mounting point.

I guess it takes a prostrate plus a ball or two to ride wheelies on a 600 lb motorbike. Photoshop?

Yeah the Harkster was whining about how his taint ('taint your buthole and 'taint your balls either) was getting chapped in the 'Swell. Threatened to tear a pussyhole in the seat like some of those bicycle seats. Friggin stock Katoom seat is not much better than wrapping the top tube with a slice of bacon.

No surprise.
KTM had nothing to do with it. It's all about customer service

It was obvious that the GM had been trying to put the place out of business for quite a while. He couldn't even do that right! Took him longer than expected.

Heard that the dealer in Sandy finally got rid of their GM. Might have to check the place out now. It is certainly more convenient than going to Reno. I'm still happy with Bavarian Motorcycle Workshop for service.

When I first got my 525 I considered the seat comparable to the thin edge of a 2x4. First mod I did was a Renazco seat. It took about 10 weeks to get, but ultimately I have been extremely happy with it. Luckily I purchased a used KTM seat on ebay before I sent mine in to get recovered. Given the time delay, this proved to be a wise choice. I turned around and sold the ebay seat in three days for the same price I paid for it.

No actually it kind of makes me smile. I have them to thank for my V-Strom. I went in there to buy a GS1150. They wouldn't give me the time of day. I was the only customer in the shop, it took them 30-45 minutes to talk to me, even after I asked for help. I asked for a test drive and the salesman, in front of the GM/Sales Manager, told me he was to busy. I thanked him and went down to The Point Power Sports (now The Edge) and bought my V-Strom. I think BMW of Salt Lake got exactly what they had coming to them.
