I have a big dream of doing this. Money is the key. I imagine this being an expensive endeavor.

I am using my disposable scooter. I will make sure its in fine running condition. But any major breakdown and I will hope a bus and not look back.

Best two places to follow the Scooter Cannonball:
http://followride.com/ will get you updates as riders reach their check-in spots for the day. http://modernvespa.com/forum/viewtop...363040#1363040 which also gets check-ins and posts from the riders and/or support folks. Not all riders have gps trackers that will show up on one or the other of the ride maps and two riders don't have a device that will send to either but there has already been one rider drop out and another who had a crash that fortunately didn't do major damage to either the rider or the scoot. Photos from Day 0 and Day 1 are linked in the Modern Vespa thread. I wish all the riders a safe journey and a good finish. If you want to know who is riding what and their handicap see http://www.scootercannonball.com/riders/ Lowest is a 1948 Salabury 85 and the highest is a 2009 Burgman 650. |
