I hardly ever wear gloves, even when I build fence. Unless I can find a pair big enough, then I gotta hide them from my son!

You nailed it, many of my rides involve last minute planning and deciding where to go on a whim. I do love making rides from home and seeing what's in my own 'backyard', IMO there are a LOT of places to see around here. I love exploring, even more so when there's something historical to see. There is so much territory to cover in the Bookcliffs, I do want to get back up that way again soon. I love it up there! We should plan a Sunday ride one of these days, get that XR out! I've also got a plated WR450 for shorter, more technical rides. I'm game for either, next weekend probably won't work for me, but any weekend after that should.

I think I got roped into this one by default.
OK, must get a bit more serious about fixing up the 625SXC (no jokes about how long it's taken please).

Baxter to Douglas connection may be getting longer
Rode up Missouri Creek yesterday from RBC 109 and then up and over the saddle on Oil Spring Mountain. I noticed the roads in Calf Creek and West End Draw have been completely reclaimed. Without the need to connect Oil Spring to the lower country the road has been completely neglected. I think it was the gas companies were the only ones grading that road. Right now there are several place where small drainages have cut completely across the road and some of the ruts have gotten very deep. I don't believe a pickup could make this trip any more. Some of the washouts are deeep and right up against the brush on the high side.
The BLM was nice enough to put up signs. ![]() A few more spring storms without any road word may make this country a real ADVenture. As it was, it sure was a nice day for a ride. Looking towards the saddle. ![]() East side of the saddle looking at the Cathedral bluffs and then south towards Douglas Pass. ![]()

Did you go down Sheep Creek? If yes, how is it looking these days?

Thanks for the updates, Bill. That'll come in handy as the riding season is ON!

We didn't go down Sheep Creek road so I don't know what it looks like. The idea was to stay in the northern area of the triangle and enjoy the trails there. All two track but fun seeing the area again and revisiting areas I haven't been to in years. Low elevation was 4100 ft at the Dolores crossing and just about 8100 ft on the high trails. The weather was perfect and so was the camping.
