Tech day anyone?
Well I was thinking (sort of dangerous) that a tech day is in order here in Anchorage. I have a garage with some basic tools to get the job done. I know a decent amount about KLR's and how to change the oil on those fancy BMW's. So not a whole lot, but it would be fun to get together with some inmates here and meet some new people. I'll be in town until this weekend then it's back up to Fairbanks for work until the snow flies again. Any thoughts?
BYOB and i'll buy some snacks. Bring your dog too. I got one who eats rocket fuel every day.

I'm down for it. Got a KLR needing a valve check and/or a carb re-jet. (got the kit, just no skills). Can bring Doo tools/experience, bike lift, other?
Not bringing my dog. He's kinda antisocial.

I'd prolly go... I have shims & other cool things. Let's do fork oil too since they are all low on oil unless you have already serviced them.

I'm in, but no longer on a KLR. And seeing how good you guys did helping me get the carbs straightened out on my Africa Transalp last year, I think I'd like to submit my DR350 to a fork oil change. Did we decide on a date? How about May 5?

I was thinking more along the lines of this week..... I'm back in town for jury duty and my number has long passed but I still have to call in every night just to make sure. Thursday, Friday or Saturday anyone? Sunday I'm leaving for Fairbanks. So up until Saturday I'm more than happy to host. I got the space for 3 to 4 bikes in my garage and plenty more out in the driveway if it's nice. Let's make it happen!

I'm up for it. Though if it's this weekend ... I'll be trailering my bike over. I've got the carb in pieces waiting for a rebuild kit, which I think is being frisked at the border somewhere.
Time and address? Thanks for hosting!

Tech day!
So just so everyone knows I'll be doing a tech day at my house on Friday at 1pm. Call the number above for directions. I'll lend my knowledge where I can and any other insight would be great. Hope to see you here!

How long are you keeping the shop open for?
I'm stuck in the office until about 5 but will be over shortly afterward! Beezer ... can you bring that book you were telling me about?

OK.... I can do FR but don't plan to make a career out of it.... I can hang for a couple hours at least. I have a good set of valve shims for KLR and a first rate tool for setting fork oil. If anybody is interested in those procedures let me know what time you can make it & I'll be there.
FYI..... KLR forks are always low on oil unless you or the P.O. serviced them. I have done prolly 3 dozen sets at tech days and none had even the 190mm level (gen I). I have doo tools too. |
