How many miles from Mefo's?

I'm heading up to Prudhoe and Inuvik in July. It's about a 7,100 mile loop from Seattle. Can I make it on a new set of Mefo Super Explorers?

I should mention that I'm riding a "08" 990, and as per usual, I'll be "loaded"

IMO Shouldnt be a problem. They Last a LONG time.

I've ran 6 sets, and never gotten over 4,200 on a rear.

Depends on riding style.

I get between 8k and 9k from a rear. Depends on your riding style...

I ruined a set in one weekend. They had about 2k on them,too fast while loaded,in the twisties. I have ran three sets so far,never get many miles out of them. I'm obviously hard on tires. Maybe it's the company I keep.

Mileages are interesting feedback but speed, load, road temps, road surface and right wrist/braking style will make anything from hundreds to thousands of miles difference.

Ship tires to a bike shop somewhere along the way in case you need them...not as cool-looking as carrying spares but more practical. I have been stuck with having to install a boy-racer road tire on an adv when 4000 miles from home because I would have had to wait a week to have something more suitable shipped into Broome, W.A. This was many years ago and deliveries might be a bit more frequent these days, but still....if you are on a tight schedule, better to have a tire waiting than be waiting for a tire.
