You must be in your 20's still.. I look at the food pics, first my mouth waters, then my stomach churns. Wish I could still eat like that.

How many miles on the valve check? Any out of spec?
I did mine today and all were in spec at .09 so I left it alone.

Not sure if you're passing thru Tucson on your way up from Mexico, but if you are, I have a garage and a couch (maybe a spare bedroom, if my roommate ever buys a damn house) for you. And cold beer. And good Mexican food. And a damn good mechanic who does a lot with 690's.

Noah had around 4,500 miles if I recall correctly. Three (2 exhaust and one intake) were at 0.08 and one intake was at 0.09. Specs are 0.07 to 0.13. He too left them as is.

He is headed to AK the then is gonna just swing down to his place (in Minnesota) prior to catching a plane for Europe. He decided take another look when he gets back home.

I got a chance to take a good look at the Rally Raid Fairing/Light/Dash/Tank setup that he has. It is a really nice kit and I'm sure will give him a bit more enjoyable time on the long sections compared to stock.

I was 4500 on the oil but 5700 on the bike. Other then that... what he said

I will check it out. I have a full street map of canada from www.openstreetmap.org. its a pretty cool site. The wiki page has links to full countries usually updated weekly in an image file to drop onto the memory card of the garmin. Canada was 1 gig. Haha.

and to think I thought some dirt fire roads up in the arrowhead out of Tofte would be an adventure..

I rode the 690 up to Mt. Baker and snowboarded Saturday and Sunday It was a pretty crazy party. Every character comes out to party for the closing weekend at a ski resort. The sun was out for both days on and off and the snow was decent. My friend Bjorn camped out Saturday night and skied both days with me. We were joined by another friend from Seattle on Sunday. I don't have any pictures from snowboarding but I do have 25 minutes of video to sort through and edit.

I stopped by Capita snowboards in Seattle on Friday and they gave me a new board to replace the one I broke in Bend!

Saturday morning getting ready in the parking lot.

Coolest VW I have seen in a while

Woke up early enough on sunday to see the snowcats still running. Brings back memories of operating a snowcat in Motana.

Rained all night but we were warm.

Wild life looking for food.

Wild life found food.

The sun broke through about 10:00 on Sunday.
