442s are pretty much universally known. The Buick GSes aren't as much. Ditto with Skylarks. If you go Olds, the Cutlass was a muscle car 'back when.' They just had more goodies inside.
I'd sorta like to do to one of the Eldorados in the yard what Jay Leno did to a Toronado. ![]() M

Finally back to this thread...
So, where do I go to look for a good specimen? I certainly have time to shop. I'd rather not go to the Mustang forum, the Charger forum, the 442 forum, the Chevelle forum, etc, is there a better way to kinda shop around?

Street Rod Nationals in Louisville later this summer, will have thousands of Rods and cars from the 60's, 70's , up to '82.
Many have for sale signs with high prices indicating what it would take to make the seller happy. Many others are really for sale due to loss of intrest or desire to change.

You can use searchtempest.com and search craigslist anywhere in the country. Say if you're looking out west for rust free cars, you can go there and plug in say a zip code from Phoenix, and search in a radius of that zip code of your choice (200 miles, 800 miles, whatever). Then punch in to your search various models you have been considering and see what comes up.

This thread has been fun to follow. And there isn't a car here I wouldn't be happy to own.
So many cars, so little time.

I am really enthused. I checked out some of these sites and fell in love with 20 cars or so, lol. Thanks for all the help! Now to wait until I get back to pull the trigger.

Make yourself a login for the Mecum website and see whats coming on the block during the Indy Spring Classic, if you go on the early weekdays you can find really killer deals.
You may even see a schedule for a Mecum auction closer to you, hell they have em everywhere now.
