A few 70 deg days, but I seem to be working when that happens-
I could have gone south, but honestly its hard to get past the urban mass without an overnight stay

I to like that bridge shot. That would make a great 10 X 16 up on the wall. I gotta get me a pair of them electrified long johns! I went out the other day in that temp not properly prepared, and I paid the price! frozen .... I wuz cold!

Thanks Riff-
I got the heated vest a couple years ago and love it- even when not on it is an excellent wind break and really comfortable for those 55 degree days with 40 degree mountain passes . I'm kinda long and lean, once I get cold it really can bite, have a tough time warming back up- the vest does it for me. No more hand dryers at the rest stop

Great pics as always, Signal!

I'm going to be up in Price (by car again ) for a day and a half next week so I can be there when Cindy and I found out whether we're having a son or a daughter It's looking like I'm going to move in early June

My condolences as well on the loss of your friend. I just lost one of my good friends who I never met in person but knew online. Best wishes to you and yours for the rest of this year.

SIgnal, I almost grabbed a bench battery and hooked up my heated gear when I looked at those pictures! It's tough working a camera with cold hands. Thanks for your efforts in keeping this great thread alive.

Mike

Rounded golden Spike monument-
Love it when the gravel gets washed off

Road becomes single lane down the old RR cut/fill

Looking backward, east-ish

Happend to see this, right in the middle of the road (perhaps pushed up/uncovered during the winter)- just in time- missed it by about 3cm. Could have really ruined my day-
Irish or Chinese?? (sorry, didnt adjust the camera settings)

New sticker(s) from an excellent Secret Santa

Cool pics Signal. Thank you. You are encouraging me to see those wide-open spaces for myself. Keep 'em coming, please!

Hey Signal, Nice pictures there I think I recognize some of that terrain. Man we could have almost met, as I was riding the grade from the west. Sure glad you found that spike and not me

I was out there on Wed (25th), but stayed mostly toward the promontory/south loop- I didnt really get far west (saw your pics from Kelton and the graves there).

Finding (seeing) that spike was likey just luck, though one does try to watch the road . It did make me nervous and slow me down for a time.

Perhaps there is a need to plan a meet and greet overnight MRE fest- invite some guys from the east . Not much sound out there, just birds and wind.

They have indeed, I dont mind them- but have been relatively hard to find in the last few years- and at about the same cost as other dry bag meals
