Ok, now the easy bits done and dusted.
All you Guzzisti will know that the IV has a loverly shade of dark blue (at least I think it's blue) on the rocker covers, brake disc inners, and fork brace.
Got this colour eye matched by my friendly paint shop, and I have to say, it came up a treat,
We're getting a little anal here, but, hell gotta be original hey.

I'll be checking up on the progress, late LeMans are highly underrated bikes.

The 'box is back from Thunderbikes, so I need to get my shit together here.

All the stuff we hear about blasting castings (I'm a poet!) has lead me to this solution, it's called VHT Universal Aluminium and comes in a rattle can.
Of course out climate in West Oz is a bit kinder to bikes than somewhere where it actually rains occasionally.
Here's the motor with it's new alloy flywheel. D'ya like my engine stand? Amazing things, milk crates, this one will feature in further pics.

Time to drag out the red paint.
All the colour is Glasurit 22line, dear as poison, but goes on like melted butter, even when the gun is being wielded by a numpty like me. Two coats of colour, two of clear.

How cool is my paint booth?
As I paint I start assembling the beast, as too much painting at a stretch does my head in.

Wheels are a bit of a trip to mask out, but fineline vinyl tape 9mm wide and a steady hand does the trick.

While I'm summoning up the courage to do the bodywork, the rest of the bike can go back together, before I forget how it goes.

Wiring gets a bit of a tidy up.

Look Mum, new hooters!

Getting there

It must feel great watching a bike you bought new so long ago being dipped in the fountain of youth and brought back to it's original beauty. It looks magic. Great wiring too - clean and tidy.

Thanks for all the cards and letters guys.
Richard..... Yes it's a great feeling to see the old thing so shiny, trouble is, I won't want to ride it, you know, scratches, rain, mud, dust..............
Stand by for the final installment.
