Engine Seized . I feel sick. Absolutely perfect condition white 2004 R1150GS w/5500miles. Everything stock. No damage whatsoever, other than the engine, of course. New motor = $5800+. Bike worth $11,000+ before mishap. Best offer for the thousands of dollars worth of like-new parts.

Oilhead Timing Chain Tensioner UPGRADE kit

Silly me. Ordered this brand new from Rubber Chicken Racing for $80.00 plus shipping. Got all excited, took bike apart and .....previous owner already did the upgrade. CRAP!

Anyone wanna save me the shipping and take this off my hands? Heck, I'll sell it for $79 just to entice a few.

http://rubberchickenracinggarage.com/chain.html

Cures the “death rattle” at startup and prevents failure of the timing chain tensioner shoe, which can be a major engine rebuild if it fails. Fits and is recommended for all Oilhead R850, R1100 and R1150 engines from 1993 to 2004 model years. This is already standard fitment in the ”Hexhead” models.

PM me if interested!

Jim

So ether you still have the rattle on start up OR you were going to fix something that didn't need fixing right? I know the noise can be annoying but I have never heard a failure from it.

I ordered something I didn't need....but obviously didn't know it till I got things tore apart. On a good note, I got to see the insides of the fuel injection system. Spotless! Life is good!

ya its worth it (and cheeper then the dealer) if its rattling but if not I see no reason to replace it. The later 1150GS's all ready have it done from the factory (somewhere around 2003). Mine has never made the nose(2001) so I will leave it along.Rubber chicken has some good prices I got a set of those bronze rear end pivot bushing they had the best deal I haven't put a set on my GS mine are still tight but I sent those over to a friend in New Zealand.

It just don’t look like 80 bucks worth of anything there.
Of course we could talk about the price of Ducati parts.
Them Europeans are sure proud of their stuff.
