I've seen that bike on sv-portal right? Love the riser bars.
i just put the heli-bars on it and it's a new bike to me: between the buell pegs and the heli-bars, the new set-up is much more like a vfr now.

I went to the bar set up a couple years ago when gas was pushing $5 gallon and I was going to work on it 4-5 days a week. Once I adapted my style, I can ride just as well as I did with clips ons.

i love my sv1k and don't plan to sell it but the re-sale value really sucks on these things. It has to be one of the most underrated bikes out there. By the way, my bike has a zx6 shock (correctly sprung for me) racetech springs, buell pegs and heli-bars and it's an unbelievably capable and comfortable machine. Oh, and the I love the renthal kevlar grips too.
nother pic..

Pretty much just naked headlight vs faired S headlight set up and the subframe was slightly different, about an inch higher IIRC. Other than that, nothing that I recall.

In addition: foot-peg mounts are different as is the top and bottom triple clamps and the brake/clutch reservoirs. N swingarm is slightly longer than the S. And the S has clip-ons while the N has a bar with corresponding longer cables and lines.

The '03 S model is the real odd ball, as the '03 naked has the same subframe as the later model S. So the '03 S has a unique seat P/N, while the naked and later S use the same seats. Great bikes!

If it was stock naked, it can only be an 03. Check sticker on frame.

If anyone has done a 03-04 GSXR 1K front end conversion I have Galfer SBK brake lines as good as new that I need to get rid off. It will work with a mc that is NOT radial, meaning 05+ GSXR 1K front ends need not apply.
Also this will only work with clip ons as it cannot match the length of a handlebar. Left over parts from when I had my SV. This was one bike which gave me no problems & yet I got rid of it

Checking in Checking in!
My 2003 Copper ![]() ![]() ![]() The bike transformed itself into an amazing machine once I installed the following: -2009 GSXR 600 forks (kept the stock wheel and rotors) - About to redo the internals for my weight -Penske 8987 rear shock -Vortex rearsets -Woodcraft clip ons with a 2.5" rise -Steel braided lines The bike is a torque beast! Now I'm looking to drop some weight by going 2 into 1. I definitely don't miss my SV650
