9 Horses of Fury...A Zuma 125 on the Loose

Took off this morning to grab a tag that was about 30 miles away.

Here is the Zuma just before departure.

Here is a pic of my planned route.



Problem is that I took a couple of wrong turns and greatly increased the distance of the trip down to the tag.

24.9 mi in 8 hrs 10 min? eh?

I get to the tag and what do I see? A fellow tagger at the tag ahead of me.

Oh well, It was a very active player so I was glad to finally meet him.

That is because I use the walking route. If I use the car route then it puts me on the highway which is basically a no no on the Zuma 125.

Left the tag and headed home. Stopped to take a pic as I was entering Woodruff, SC.

Can't tell from this pic but I was stopped at a gas station fuelling up on Cracker Jacks and Pepsi.

Got back home and my 50 mile round trip somehow turned into a 100+ plus mile trip.

Can't figure out how that happened.

Turned the Zuma into a pack-mule today.

I tried a couple of new things to try and get the fuel mileage up. I bought Ethanol Free fuel and eased waaaay up on the throttle.

Last 2 tanks game me 79 and 78 mpg. This is about a 10 - 12 mpg improvement.

The latest tank in regular gas so I will see how just the easy throttle effects the mileage when I fill up again.

easy take off made a big difference for me, 80MPG+ was seen a few times if I limited my take off and maintained a motion. Keeping away from major throttle adjustments makes a big difference also.
I am looking at loosing some of the weight, both me and the scooter
want an exhaust that is not to loud but lighter and may remove the front guard. small things, maybe a small windshield type thing for air flow. Riding position and all the other small things can make a collective difference.

I guess that means that throttle effects gas mileage more than Ethanol content in the gas.
