Oh, and you could edit your profile to show where you come from.

I advise to use a smooth (no holes) 4.5mm stainless bottom skid plate and lodge a piece of 15mm (or so) conveyer belt between sump & plate. This way the shock is displaced over many load points (and not only the crashbars bolts). Your bike will slide over the rocks without slowing down :)

That was just after Jindabyne at the start of Barry Way heading south. Started as rain, then freezing rain, then that. Was lovely and peaceful except I remembered it was less than an hour till last light
