We are still on track on the microSquirt. I just need to have an alternative means of running this thing. I'm taking off my stock throttle body to have a TPS fitted. I may go down to the my vw source, and get one so I don't have to butch mine.

Lot's of AdventureWagens here, Westfalias, and other Mercedes Contraptions.. daddy like! I am forced to drive a Seat Exeo 2.0 TDI (Audi A4 Wagon with Seat brandings).

First day back in the US, and I got the van running with the new (old) computer. This is good, as it is 90F outside, 50% humidity. Hopefully I can move this puppy into A/C garage, and get to work! Took about 2 hours to put new spark plugs, re-run the wiring harness, re-terminate new connections that got burned, refurbish the distributor. It took me the longest to refurbish the distributor as it was gunked with burned up plastic from previous points... Now, I need to get a hold of my friend to help me tune it, and get the timing right.

Tomorrow, Collin from IAC is coming over, and we are going to wrap this thing! I ordered last bits and pieces and had them rushed over. I finally decided to spring $149 for a new distributor, since mine had way too much free play, and was not running well... $149 gets you a tight distributor and Pertronix pre-installed.
My other distributor will be used for a conversion, once I am ready to move along.

May want to stay away from this distributor... It's not giving me the advance I need. It's stingy with the advance..... I am still hesitating a bit, and it's not going all the way to 28 BTDC... So we had to advance my initial timing to 11 BTDC, to make it close to 28 BTDC @ 3000 RPM... Makes a hard start, and initial warmup a bitch, and also makes it interesting with mid-warm situations... and at full warmth, i get hesitation because I don't have that initial sweep from 7.5....
![]() I am going to probably rebuild my old distributor with new parts, and keep my old springs, and weights, and move the Pertronix over... now the shit part... I am running out of adjustment on cyl #4 exhaust valve... I am running out of threads to screw the nut in... it will need a bit longer pushrod...

don't worry about the adjuster nut...
when the valve seat starts to recede it will be ok.....now the other push rods maybe to long then..... The dizzy... why not put your weights and springs in it? also did you check the advance plate to make sure it is not stuck? just asking and throwing ideas out. not saying this is the problem..
