+1 on that thanks to Mike! It sure pays to have a Green Beret in your riding group. I had no sooner said "something's wrong with my eye" and he broke out his first-aid kit and had my eye flushed out, applied eye-safe antibiotic, and had my eye patched up. I must've scratched my cornea, the eye's still very red but no pain, and I'll go see my eye doc on Monday if it still looks bad. Wish I coulda finished that ride, but there'll be other opportunities...glad there was no more carnage after we left!

Tony,

Thanks for letting my brother and I join you guys today, we had a great time. Sorry my vintage NX Honda gave up the ghost. We towed it into Beatrice, fixed the broken oil line, filled it up with oil, and rode back to the parking area. We still ended up with 143 miles :).

Again, thanks Tony....and thanks to every who helped!

Monroe County Ride yesterday

Great time ridin yesterday...had a couple of incedents and one in particular that had the capability of being a serious life changer.
Our Hero for the day is Mike for providing treatment to Inepts eye. Mike had brought along eye wash, ointment, dressing and made this "before" picture.

Mike, Dan and Rich stayed with Inept to get him back to the staging area and the ride went on. In the meantime, Inept recovered enough to feel like joining us for a catfish dinner at Davids in Atmore that night.

Thats Mike in the red shirt sittin next to Inept.
Give that Man thanks and your friendship when you see him.
Mike, we're glad your amongst us and welcome to the group!

Ok, on to the pictures ect.

I've said enough already, but just want to add that its a pleasure knowing all you. We kept up a brisk pace with a start of 14 riders and and added Vic's crew at the dam for a total of 18 or so and kept going.

No cell phone service at the river ferry. Not a problem for Monroe County cause they have a "App" for that!

Always good to ride with my old grade school chum Fernando. He was aboard "Smokey" and some said it was easy following his smoke trail from his XR.

Good day, no dust, we stayed together, only one breakdown, and Inept is gonna be OK.
A Good,Good day!

Edit to add Tom's pictures:

All the pictures I took and some that Mike sent me at the following link:

fbm leads the way...right into the bike sucking hole.

Not nearly as interesting as the eye pic but the "scorpion" fbm did over the bars was pretty cool. It was another good ride with him, Gimmee and Chavez. The summer is here.

N00b on the loose!

Great thread ! Love all the info I have found in this thread. Been here on the beach for over a year now and I am glad I finally got my bike with me. Got it plated a couple weeks ago with no problems and I will be stopping by to see the folks over at Jackson Guard tomorrow to get my permit to roam around Eglin.

I would love to run with you guys sometime!

I need some ideas on a couple good places over north of Navarre where can I unload my bike and head out on the reservation which are safe and secure. I live out on the beach, which is close, but would rather tote the bike a little closer to some of the trail heads on SR 87.

Also wondering if I will be ok with a plated 300 XCW. I just put a Sicass lighting kit on it and it has all the necessary hardware now. Still, its a smoker and I dont want to have any issues since it looks like most of you guys are running DP and "Legal" KTM 4ts.

Thanks
Gunner
