Uly Questions
Just bought an 06 Uly. Had R1150GS and 55 Tiger in the past. This is different :)
First impressions: Fast. Not as loud as I thought (good). Not as shaky as I thought. I think it's about the same as the GS. Perhaps a little shakier. Primitive comfort items, but that's cool. It feels like a giant dirt bike where as the other 2 bikes felt more civilized. Questions I have as a noob to the bike are: - Is there a rear rack I can install that does not require pannier rack? - Is there a way to put a fuel gauge on this thing? Can't hurt to ask. - Can it run TKC 80s? What should it run? - What's the preferred tank bag? Wolfman? - Will Fastway pegs work on it? - Center stands, anyone? Bueller? (get it?) - Is there a "moving the ECM" thread that exists, but I can't seem to find? - How fast ill it go? :) - What do I need to know now that I own this thing? |

First of all, go here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buel...tml?1336757195. BadWeb is the place for all things Buell. Scroll down into the archive folders for "New Ulysses Owner Information."
Have fun with that thing!

Check outhttp://palmerproducts.co.uk/ - Is there a way to put a fuel gauge on this thing? Can't hurt to ask. None that I have seen - Can it run TKC 80s? What should it run? There are supposed to be proper size TKCs out for it any time, I've run everything from pilot road 2 to a Shinko 705 - What's the preferred tank bag? Wolfman? I've seen many different bags on them, I use a cheap Rapid Transit brand. Any strap on type will do. - Will Fastway pegs work on it? I don't believe they will fit, check these outhttp://www.preeng.com/xcart/product.php?productid=27 - Center stands, anyone? Bueller? (get it?) Nope - Is there a "moving the ECM" thread that exists, but I can't seem to find? I'm sure there is on badweb - How fast ill it go? :) Bout 140 with stock primary gearing, you can lower gearing 11% with a XB9 primary. - What do I need to know now that I own this thing? Keep an eye on the rear wheel bearings, I put a 2010 rear wheel on mine. Rocker boxes are bad about leaking, which is hard on the cooling fan I had to replace a stator on mine a while back, they seem to go out from time to time. Set your suspension up for your weight and riding style first thing. These things are a blast to ride, even though mine has had some issues. Have 39k on it now.

I'd save up for the TKC80s. I had Kenda big blocks on for a while. I had to run the smallest rear tire on my front. They don't make a front 17". The rear wore out very quickly. Decent off road traction but truly ruined its transitions on the street. Got a lot of compliments though |

For the rear rack without side panniers, I like my Twisted Throttle rear rack. It was made by Fehling.

Rear Rack
The Palmer Rear Rack is also a quality piece that does not require the side racks.

You've made a horrible mistake, Ulys are crap do NOT go to badweatherbikers, those guys can't be trusted. I'll save you a lot of heartache and take that Uly off your hands for 2300.

Do you want a flat rear rack or a top case one?
Because the OEM top case rack doesn't require the side racks to be installed.
