Hi there

I'm plannig a small trip to Nordkapp in the middle of this June.
There are few topics I'm curious about:

1. What is the weather there in this time of year usually?
2. Any recommendations on where to stay near Nordkapp?
3. Are there any interesting activities available (like whale safari or something)?

Regarding landscapes etc. the Nordkapp is overrated. Regarding being the northernmost point, its a hoax - they call if the 'northern-most tourist attraction'. It's also very expensive to get there (toll road, access fee).
There is a point on another peninsula nearby which is further north. You need to walk a bit, but its free.

If you have the chance to go a little bit further west and visit the Vesteralen / Lofoten islands, do it. Absolutely stunning landscapes. I've tried to go whale watching in Sto (69.02N 15.13E), but they told me that I should have booked 2-3 weeks in advance ...

Lots of daylight. I was very lucky when I was there, 16C, not a cloud around. But that was unusual according to the locals. There are some campgrounds and small hotels not far from the Cape which are easy to find because there's only one road up and back. Norway is very efficient when it comes to tourist infrastructure. I stayed in Honnigsvag, which is about a half-hour ride from the Cape. The landscape at the Cape is rocky and treeless. I guess we go there just to say we did. Just as Ushuaia is not the southern end of South America, the Cape isn't, technically, the farthest northern point in Europe. But it's close enough and riding in Norway is exceptional.

Just take care not to hit any reindeer - those badboys are everywhere and completely don't care about traffic.

But north norway is pretty awesome. If you can stand the horrible prices on gas, the tour down the north west coast is one of the most amazingly beautiful things in north Europe.

Lofotens are on my "to visit" list but I think I wouldn't have enough time to get there this year (same regarding my riding comrades) :(

Yeah, the gas prices there are completely insane. I know that - I drove through the south-western part of Norway on my GMC truck two years ago with my wife on our honeymoon

1. Weather can be warm as well as cold, it changes fastly
2. Not long from the edge there are couple of campingareas, tent, cottage and rooms. At Honningsvåg there are hotel and also youth hostel.
3 Google "visit Nordkapp", maybe you find som interesting to do there.

Fuelprice: ho cares, from Finnish border and back is about 5-600 kms ride. Extracost for the higher fuelprice with a motorcycle is about 4 euro. I´m sure you can manage it in your travelbudget.

Many people don´t recommend the beautiful Nordkapp, because of the costs(tunnel, edge) and because lot of tourists. As already mentioned....they are missin the important point of it...."been there"

If you have time over, you have a beautiful sisteredge at east of the Nordkapp, called Nordkyn. Recommend to visit when riding back home. Beautiful roads there, much less tourists and it´s free.

I went to Nordkapp in June 2011. I belive the toll road will be free from June 2012. The price to get into the Nordkapp centre is still high, although I was lucky as when I got to the entrance the cashier said his credit card machine was not working and so I should pay inside - really. Here is a panorama that I took approximately a mile down the road. It was cold but if your from Russia enjoyable. The weather further south was hot. Lofoten Islands was in the 80s./

Same experience here. I went on a 18-day trip through Norway in 2007.

The most beautifull parts of Norway, for me, are around Geiranger and the Lofoten. Next time I won't go further north. Like some people already said, the reason to go to North Cape is just to have been there. The sticker on your side case :)

When I was there the weather couldn't be any more different between days. I went from 27°C in Trondheim to around 0°C at Alta a couple of days later. So be prepared for different types of weather (hot/cold, dry/wet).

Novack Nice trip my friend. I want to make the same this end of July for 17 days from Greece, don't forget the trollstigen, prekistolen,nigardsbreen,geirangen and make yourself ready for much rain (i do)!!! Have a nice trip!!

It's looks like I'll have enough time to get to Lofotens and then to Nordkapp through Tromso at the beginning of June.
Any recommendations for a sightseeing at this route?

i have been there last year and the lofoten were absolutely stunning

if you have the time and like it you can visit the polar zoo on the way from the lofoten to the nordkapp

North of Lofoten there are a beutiful isle, Senja. Some norwegians think the Senja is better than Lofoten, I like Senja more than Lofoten.(of course, Lofoten have to be visit once at least)

There are a ferry from Andenes in north of Lofoten to Senja, but I´m not sure if it goes in beginning of June already.

Recommend around the isle and visit all the dead ends, apart from the road 860

Senja is in the route plan already together with the ferry from Andenes.
I've heard that this ferry is heavily crowded in summer times - the car drivers need to get to the ferry within two or more hours before the departure in order to get to the ferry. What about motorcycles?
