Asrvivor, I'm glad you mentioned gas....

I'm thinking Summer Lake, at about 195 miles from out meetup is the obvious first gas stop. Speak up if that presents a problem. Silver Lake is the next previous spot with gas at about 170 miles from the meetup.

After that, I'd plan to top off in Lakeview, about 70 miles further on. Plush is the next logical place but I've always had reservations about the quality of their gas.

Keep calm and carry on.

So I'll be all alone in my hotel tonight.

. Where is the meet up for eats and drinks. I'm at Santiam rest area taking a break now. Should be at hotel in an hour. Anyone want to go for a beer later? I'll check this when I get in. I need a good steak tonight too. Suggestions?

that could have gone better!
got a call this morning that one of the group had bike problems.
I added some gas to the Royota tossed in some tie downs and ramps,,and went for a rescue drive.
I drove out hwy 58 towards Oakridge and found the group at Shady Dell campground. xr doug's KTM quit running as if it were out of gas. Turn on key,,no fuel pump sound.
I took him and his bike to the KTM dealer, where he was last seen plugging in diagnostic equipmnt.
Hope they got it sorted and back on the road!

Well no joy getting the bike going. Still hanging out here in the KTM Country parking lot. I have a brother in law on the way down with a Pickup to haul me home. Will get the bike fixed closer to home. Peterman I can't thank you enough for dropping your own stuff and driving up to get a complete stranger off the side of the road and back to a spot where I can pull things together with help from my own peeps! You made a big deposit in the good Karma bank today.

dammit Doug! you shoulda called me when you discovered the dealer to be no help. guess I wasn't clear on that, but that's why I gave you my numbers. I gladly woulda come got you and your stuff, and brought you to my place to wait for your rescue driver,,better here in a crusty machine shop [edit]with beer,,than in the frikken parking lot!
