Otherguy, that 300 is nice. If you don't mind me asking, what did you give OTD for it and where in C-burg did you pick it up?

Really want something low maintenance and that I can do myself.

Kymco? Stella?

Is a 150 easier to service than a 250?
The Stella isn't going to be "low maintenance"....they take constant tinkering.

Yo Homes,

$7300 OTD. $500 cheaper than the next offer. After a lot of phone calls and research, I was happy paying that price for the one I wanted. That price includes all the DMV doo-dah and a hard copy plate on the scoot when you leave. Frontline Honda. I was happy with them, and I've been around the block buying motos.

It was a real eye-opener finding out how expensive these little fuckers are new these days, but used prices are commensurate.

A lot of folks would say, "how could you have paid that much for a scooter, you could have gotten an insert bike for that price", well have you looked at it? Probably the nicest looking scooter made today IMO.

Ok Stella is off my list then. Really want a 250 or larger anyway.

Thanks, glad the Harley is gone.

I don't keep stuff very long. Silverwing has to go!

I think he liked it but he had it for over 2 weeks so he was forced to sell it.

It felt small to me. I'm 5'5" but still felt cramped. Don't know how bigger guys can ride them.
And I had it more than 2 weeks.

Still trying to figure out what to get when the SWIng sells.

Stopped by a couple of local shops yesterday. Found out one is a Genuine and Kymco and Sym dealer. Also has a good rep for serving customers so that opens a lot of possibilities.

Tho' I like to have 2 bikes - I'm thinking I don't really need 2 that can do interstate. The Vespa can cover that and a 2nd bike could be a smaller size.

The Stella is nice (I know not easy to maintain as pointed out). They also had both the SYM HD 125 and 200. Nice looking as are the Kymco People 150cc. Like the big wheels on those.

Over at the Honda.Yammy dealer is the Zuma 125 and the little Hondas Elite and PCX.

On a related note - rode the Swing yesterday for the first time in about 2 weeks. Compared to the GTS it feels HUGE! And SLOW - both in handling and in acceleration. While there is no doubt that Honda rides the interstates better and can cruise at a higher speed - around town the Vespa is so much lighter and easier to handle. And, at least to me, the FUN factor on the smaller scooter is much greater.

Ride safe

Odd - I fit on the TU250.

Ya slide back on the saddle...almost into the bitch-seat.

I learned to ride on UJBs - and that's how I got comfortable on them, at 6'2"

The TU is small but it's nimble.

Not odd at all.

You surely have longer arms than I, allowing you to shift back more thus leaving more room between you and the front of the bike. I needed to lean forward and thus felt cramped. Also, one of the things about many bikes (for me) is after leaning forward for more than a short while, my wrists ache and my hands get numb.

One of the things I loved about the Silverwing and Reflex is the long handlebars that allowed me to sit more upright.

Comfort on a bike is affected by many things - including a person's physical makeup. I happen to have herniated disks in my neck and back making certain seating positions quite painful. So it is difficult for me to find bikes/scoots that work well of me. Lucky, I enjoy trying lots of new stuff so buying/selling/trying new bikes is a hobby I love.

The TU is a fun bike and I'm glad it works for you. Enjoy!!

David
