Is there any reason we can't have both? ADV jam session Friday night and a band on Saturday, or the other way around.

As a musician (well, that may be a stretch) who has played a few bar gigs, putting together anything worth listening to takes a LOT of time and practice together.

FWIW, I thought the band was very good, but to each their own

There are many musicians among us. I would like to see some microphones and amps and let the talent come from us.

Skyclad said he wanted to play his flute but felt there was no place for him or that he would be intruding.

Many brought their instruments this year also.

The band was good. But I go to these events to catch up to friends, and the loud music kinda makes that hard.

Saturday's meal was great, Friday's... needed some work.

Coffee setup was smart.

The only bad thing I would say was the effin fireworks going off in the middle of the damn night when people are trying to sleep. You want to do fireworks that's fine, just don't be an ass and shoot them off after say midnight...

Band was comprised of some very skilled fellas

I've been an audio tech for a long long time...not a pro, but I can recognize good talent when I see it. I saw it Saturday night. But, I do thinnk having a system that can accomodate a couple of ADVers who might like to join in could be cool...I can provide additional gear next go around if my situation hasn't changed much. My landlord is a good friend, and he has a side business doing sound gigs. I could talk him out of some gear for a weekend for sure

FWIW, Pierce was under the impression he would be playing inside. If we can make that possible next year, then folks who just want to chat, won't have to worry about loud music...

The fireworks were Rick aka PARTY BOSS's idea!

He did it every year to discourage the party-poopers from sneaking off to bed!

Rick did not like folks sleeping through one of his parties!

I got to stop by for a bit on Friday afternoon, seems most people were out riding, and some were dozing from the previous evenings festivities. I did get to see several familiar faces, some I haven't seen in several years, and bought a shot glass to help the cause.

Silke, great job on the set-up and organization.

Need to thank "Wayne" ? for the plastic license plate bolt that held my face shield on for the remainder of my weekends riding. Send me your addy and I'll mail it back to you.

It was good to meet Rick's wife and talk with her for a while too. I got to share some memories and stories with her.

I can't believe the cafe by the road had Turbo Dog on tap, good stuff.

Maybe I can plan to spend more time at the next one.
