Foot pegs rubber
When I ride with my riding boots it's sometimes difficult to get the boot under the shifter. It seems those rubber pieces on the pegs are easily removed. I would like the extra clearance but i also don't want numb feet from the vibration. So what's the consensus on here, with or without rubber?

I found the rubber inserts to be in the way. There are some vibes in the pegs but with good riding boots it isn't bad enough to bother me. YMMV.
Pop 'em out and give it a try, if you don't like it you can always put the rubber back in (I've heard it's a bitch though).

Pivot Pegz

The other thing you can do is adjust your lever up to give you more clearance. There are a lot of guys using Pivot Pegz. Here is one of the threads. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=613617

+1 on the Pivot Pegz. They're wider than the stock pegs, so standing on them is more comfortable. They grip like a pissed off terrier. And they pivot, so braking and shifting is easier. One of the best upgrades I did on my F800.

I just pulled mine (took 6000 miles). Feels like a little more room, feels like a little more vibration, especially with the Shinko 705's on.

I always remove the rubber and ride with the metal pegs. I have always road offroad bikes and it just feels normal.

It's really slippery rubber when it gets wet. I threw mine away right after my first puddle. Couldn't keep my feet on the pegs.

I ended up with the rubber out and the Wunderlich adjustable shifter lever. Moving the shifter up a notch did help though. BTW if you put the rubber back in really pull on the nub on the bottom that fits through the metal foot peg to make sure it's seated otherwise you'll end up like me with one rubber pad on and one gone! PS they only sell them in pairs. Without the rubber not too vibey however.

F800GS is my first street legal bike, and the first that came with rubber inserts. It actually felt odd with the rubber inserts in.

Rubber.. as the relationship matures you will find most don't use it any more
and +3 on the pivot pegs if you intend to leave the regular streets and stand up while driving

I took the rubbers off the day I brought the bike home. I like the steel teeth and the extra bit of leg distance.
Will not put them back on |

I removed the rubber on mine as soon as I got home from the dealership. Since then, I've replaced the stock pegs with Moose Racing "Hybrid" pegs. They provide a much better grip than stock.
