My brother (Mark) builds guitars.
 A recently finished instrument:   Mark has built beautiful things all his life: furniture, RC models, kayaks, etc, etc. He has also played guitars all his life, I suppose building guitars was inevitable. Pretty much anything he has ever built has looked "right," but the guitars take it to a whole new level. The two loves of his life joined up into something new. Mark has begun a second career building guitars, I suspect he is going to do quite well. Eric

Anyone know anything about Alvarez Guitars? I browsed through a shop yesterday and an old Alverez dreadnought style flat top caught my eye; model 5053. All I could find using google was it was "1970's". Really sweet sounding guitar. I know they weren't high end, but I did like the sound and feel. A little beat up; might make a good traveler.
