Thanks for the tip David, hopefully I will be able to make it...

After the disappointment of Evia, I had a long hard philosophical thought of about 30seconds and
figured what the hell...

Currently trying to figure out logistics, support & paperwork, but hopefully I will make it to the race, it will be cool to catch up! (and I can get a sneak preview of the awesome minimal rally set-up you guys have made )

Sounds like a plan

Just got an email confirming my entry looks like there's no turning back now.
Number 232 it is then...

Anybody have more info on this:
The*Time Transponder*and*GPS Unit*will function with 12 Volt from vehicle battery.

- One Red/Black cable MUST go from battery poles to the handlebar, (with 30 cm spare),*firmly*connected*directly to the battery and with NO switch or fuse on it's way.*
- One horizontal flat space (minimum 25mm x 35mm) in the cockpit have to be free for mounting the*Unit*antenna.
-*Time*Transponder Unit*size is (70mm x 50mm x 25mm). It will be mounted on the cockpit or in the handlebar. Please take all the*necessary measures to make this space available, for the*installation*to be as easy as possible.*
*

I am thinking of getting a few clamps and a flat piece of sheet metal on the handle bar.

Will heavy duty double sided tape or Velcro hold the transponder or should I pack a drill with nuts & bolts?

Hey guys,
I got no 182, my first contact with rally ever - going to be fun

One question to EAO guys - Is there a way to get some kind of support during the race ? bike maintenance after each day etc. I am driving there with a bunch of friends from Poland with our bikes so no transportation is needed. I am just interested in mechanic and service support during the rally. What would be the price for this if its even possible . I was supposed to have a mechanic from Poland but he bailed few days ago.

PS - I ride 09WR450F if that matters.

thanks in advance

Gearbox fixed after destroying it in Evia a month ago and carb being fully serviced...
picking up the bike on Tuesday, loading up on Friday morning for the 20 hour drive to Tirana

fun fun fun!

Looks like the regular stress free rally preparations . My road book stopped working 2 days before the shipping of my bike, found out it was a loose wire on the RB motor. Now all is ready for shipping.

Here the large part of Rally Raid Sweden stands in front of a a fully loaded truck before heading to Albania! I am already in Croatia and will drive down to Tirana in a few days, the other 14 riders will fly down.

So looking forward to this, see you there!!

Wow that looks professional...

our rig is a bit more understated ha ha

Kindly provided by Dimitris who is the co-organizer of Serres Rally, this truck will host us 3 riders + bikes + our support guy Elvis...

Seriously stressing out over the million things left to do before Friday, plus my bike (which now has a new butter-smooth gearbox) is now having carb problems, I think now would be a good time for me to start banging my head on the wall...

Last resort is to fit a used carb off a 450 SX just for the race and then tackle the problem when I get back again

From what I have heard, bigger trucks are not always a good idea for Albania...

Stage 2 has started the rallye! 135km special took the fastest rider nearly 5 hours!! With the first batch making the bivouac around 22.00u...

At 17.00 only 13 cars and 34 bikes had passed the halfway point, we cant blame a late start as the liason opened at 05.00u for the 430km day...

(thanks to Marcel at Rallymaniacs.nl who is our onsite man in the know and providing us with pics)

the online version seems down and quite a few people complaining about the general organisation so far.

I think this is only to be expected and we should all realise that this is being run on public roads, in a country that only recently opened up and ofcourse is not on par with some 'western' countries. This all should make for a more pleasant rallye all together is you ask me Fancy hotels and full support are for lazy rallye riders

Only 135km's today, so an easy ride I assume!
