Had one of those last minute lets go rides today. Put about 70 miles of old grade/logging road on. My butt got tired. Headed up the 4200 line down towards the south fork toutle river. Back up over the ridge to 5 corners. Then down to the mud flow on the north fork toutle. Back up and home to Longview.

Went with 2 good buddy's and 2 dogs.

Hey they like to ride on the brute force. I got to mention this as well. I never road with anyone who has a Yamaha 426. Buddy has one plated and all. Really snappy power I would say. Kinda made me glad for the XL600. Looks like you have to actually RIDE that thing. Not to mention getting it started.

By the way I still hate alder trees and there damn broken tops/limbs. You would think the grease would wear off of them after they laid in the grass for awhile.

Made me do a very unique dismount.

6/10. Anyone going to be getting dirty locallaly around pdx? Was thinking about goofing around on lolo when it warms up a bit later, like around noonish maybe?

Well, Sunday is looking nice for weather and I'm thinking about hitting Old Barlow Trail. Anyone able to say IN this early in the week? Say tollgate for breakfast at 9am in Sandy. Then up we go. If you haven't been on this road it is a super dual sport trail. Not to difficult, but really fun. And from reports lately it is in great shape.

I could be convinced to do a Sunday ride, you have confirmed that it is clear of snow.

It was when I came back home Sunday. That's as much confirmation as I have. Assssuming it doesn't snow any this week we are good.

Been gone the last 5 weekends camping someplace, so am guessing I'm probably out this weekend.

FWIW - Two of those weekends I rode Barlow Road, and the last one (Blackdog), only had a little at the top of the road, but easy tracks through it.

I would enjoy the ride but worry about how many miles cause I'm still on stock tank good for only 110-120 miles. I don't know how far the bottle in the bag will get me.

Ryel, It won't be a problem. We can fill up just prior to getting on the trail. And it's only maybe 50 miles.

and gas at the North end at CJ's Chevron or Gov't camp.

Your limited range will be fine. But bring the bottle anyway...
