This story was told to me by Treys' brother in law.

Trey was in an AMA national running up front when he got t-boned by Rex Staten, a factory rider at the time. He got up and caught Rex Staten and T-boned him right in front of some AMA officials. He got a 2 year ban from the AMA.

Back in the eighties I was racing hare scrambles and Guy Cooper was winning nationals. Guys brother Chuck was one of the fastest local guys. If he wasn't at a race himself Guy Cooper would sometimes be a a local race working a checkpoint. I wonder how many other national champions would show up at a local race and work a checkpoint.

What's it like to race an early '70's KX400 at Unadilla? Here's Jorski's helmet cam video from the picture below in the 40+Expert class. Chasing Guy Cooper, some of the landings on that vintage suspension hurt me even on the video! Especially coming out of the "Gravity Cavity" And the tank slapper by #57 on the 3rd turn will get your attention fast!

hah, this video made the rounds last week at athens ahrma. the helmet cam vid was made by trey allison, the crasher is his dad, jerry allison. the story goes like this: jerry wanted to pass his son in front of the spectators at the top of gravity cavity, he figured it'd make for a nice pass. and good footage. little did he know #26 was just standing there right in the landing zone. notice the flagman not even paying attention... amazingly jerry was ok after the wreck, and raced his next moto. #26 did not race his next moto - hopefully he ended up ok.
