I traveled the Icefields Parkway myself 10 years ago, most beautiful road I've ever been on.
Stayed at the hostel in Lake Louise, nice, cheap and friendly. If you end up heading down through Kanaskis Country there's a campground that has teepees for rent.

It seems like any argument I can think of is equally applicable to any other bike. (FI complication? GS/Big KTM's have FI) Reliability of a KTM (the modern LC4/LC8 motored KTM's seem pretty reliable). I don't get it.

The perfect bike is always the one you are riding at the time. Heck, even a Honda cub is perfect in the right circumstances.

Noah had the use of my shop to change his fork seals as well as a bbq and bed to sleep in.
![]() ![]() he doesn't need the ladder to get on the 690,just to add fork oil with my high vise. I rode a couple hrs with him to the Columbia Ice Fields It was great meeting you Noah and all the best to you on this RTW ride.

It is doing well. I use the garmin voltage converter and I have an outlet specifically for the gps. I'm also running lithium AA batteries for when the bike is off. The gps won't charge (rechargable) batteries when it is plugged in which is too bad. I used 2 sided tape in the ram mount to keep the gps tight so it won't rattle. Only a few times has it shut off from harsh vibration. I don't like that it is powered by a usb connecttion but it is what it is. I wouldn't do anything different with it yet.
