Where did you ride in MS today?

I decided I would go visit EBW this morning; I haven't seen him since he's been out of the hospital.

I left my house about 5:30 but that's a little too early to be knocking on someone's door. I figured I would head north of Jackson and make a little loop back to his house.

The rain was kind of off an on.



I was going to eat breakfast in Flora but I wasn't hungry when I got there so I kept going.





I was starting to get hungry and the closest town was Rolling Fork. I made my way to Chucks restaurant. Since I was in RF I grabbed the State Tag.



Then decided to take the Teddy Bear tour.





I left there and headed toward the river.




Then gradually made my way back Southeast.







After 300 miles and 7.5 hours, I made it to EBW's house.

Here is a little dirt riding, the conditions were perfect.

Knightwork, Bob, and I met for breakfast today, and went for a little ride.

I had a 5 hour route planned to from Brandon to Columbia to Monticello using primarily back roads.

We left Brandon and made our way towards Harrisville.











Just on the other side of Harrisville, this guy was having some difficulty.




Several of the roads I had plotted were gated so we had to reroute on the fly.

I don't remember exactly where this bridge is but KW said they used to swim here when he was a kid.







This is between Prentiss and Monticello

People were determined to block the road today.

KW had never been to Red Bluff, so...








When we got to Foxworth, we turned Northwest and started working our way back to Monticello for lunch.






We turned off on this nice gravel rd



The Ducati does not like the sand.

The road started getting smaller...



...and smaller



...and smaller



... and smaller



Then a gate. The main road was supposed to be just on the other side of the hill. It appeared as though it was only gated on this end of the road, so we eased around the gate and found the road ended about a quarter mile. So we turned around and headed out.




I was running low on fuel so we took a little more direct route to Monticello.






We fueled up, then stopped for lunch at Mo Betta BBQ

I was leading until lunch, so yes. After lunch, Bob led, and we probably averaged 100mph.

The route I had planned ended at this point and I was just going to make up a route for the way home. At lunch Bob said "I know a route from here". I said "great, I'll be glad to follow." Now let me take a minute to explain this...I had never ridden with Bob until today. I have been around him several times and I had heard stories from others about his riding ability. I'm not a great rider by any stretch of the imagination but I do ok. Surely I can keep up on these back roads.

Since we were near KW's old homestead we stopped to look around.

I could catch him when we came up on a car.



Then he was gone again



I just decided to do what I do, and take pictures.




I think he felt sorry for me and slowed down.

I'm not exactly sure where we went after lunch but I do know we crossed I-55 several times, made a big loop near Dentville, and back to Florence. We went our separate ways from there. It was a great day to ride and it was a lot of fun trying to follow Bob. Exhausting but fun. 400 + miles of goodness today

this day was one of the best ones I'VE EVER HAD ------- the challenges were over the top and playing sweeper with these two guys make you work---had a big ol smile on my face all day

Frau Breuller was ready to rest when we finonally pulled into the castle tonite--gonna be sore tommorrow

Down Hwy 90 to Hooters, then to The Cigar shop for a couple of hours and finally to Tony's Brick Oven for dinner. Not many miles but it sure was a beautiful day here on the gulf coast and I convinced a friend to take a ride on his neglected bike.

Dude... dont speak of challenges on a GS when ur followin a cool ole man on a Duc... If he made some videos of him takin that Duc where he takes it on street tires he'd send the dual sport bike market down the tube!

Isn't that the truth?!?! Granted he could ride a Vespa and still leave me, but the few times we've had a chance to ride with Bob when he was on the 1098 ... not a chance of keeping up ... I saw him for the first 2-3 turns and not again until the road ended!

More truth. I'm pretty sure you could close your eyes and place your finger on any point on a map of Mississippi and Bob would know a route from there.
