A comment from another member who had an informal ADV event in KS.

I did a weekend down there in '10, trying to emphasize (my mistake) bring your tent, and a dude shows up in a 2 million dollar coach and 20 ft trailer with several brand new farkeled out KTM's, new KTM suits and KTM running shoes and gawd knows what else. I'd never met him, he didn't do forums, I don't know how the fuck he learned of it. He rode with us, but split for his bus for a shower and ate dinner and blew off anything else to do with me. I was kinda surprised he wanted to get any dirt on his new KTM running shoes.*snip*There's no rulz or anything, come as you are, but I thought the gist of the weekend was completely lost on the guy.

"That guy" is everywhere, with every brand of bike, but I will concede more likely with the expensive ones.
Besides, the OP seems like a great guy and he rides a GS. He could have parked in my space anytime.

For the record though, I changed time zones (TX-NM). My overall average speed was 73 mph. I made the trip on one tank, so I didn't stop anywhere along the way, and there are very few towns that required me to slow down. And yes... out here in flat West Texas I do generally run in the 80 m.p.h. ballpark.

Having pretended to be a BMW master tech for three years, I've seen my share of posers on the shiny unridden GS's. No different than the HD's or.......

Oh man, I shoulda watched the paint dry instead of reviving this thread. I didn't think the OP was being sarcastic on the title (in my defense). Thought he had met me . Truth is, there's an a-hole riding every type of bike out there, in every type of car and even sitting in the church of whatever denomination you care for. That's life, get over it. Maybe if the offending GS'r was able to get a word in he might say something like "Ever since the accident...." or "I'm just trying to escape the nightmare that is my life for a few days". Or maybe he's just an a-hole. Whatever.

What a tool that GS rider is. In London, if you park your bike inconsiderately, it's not totally unheard of to find someone has helpfully moved your bike into a position that will allow other bikes to park alongside yours.
