Had fun today on the not as muddy mud road. I don't think Eddy made it home by noon but he's was less than an hour late. I was home after spraying off the bike at 12:45. Dan, I don't know why Eddy didn't turn at 106 south. He kept going another 5 miles, right turn signal still blinking before he realized you were not behind me. I stuck with him just to where this adventure would lead. Seeing the Tdub merge onto 295 made me look like this
. Luckily nobody ran us over and we made it back to Chester. Fastest my speedometer read following the tw200 was 65 but Eddy wasn't tucking to gain any more speed either. He also had the left blinker on the whole time on 295. I'm not sure if it was half an attempt at emergency flashers, or maybe he just isn't used to the standard turn signal controls anymore. Either way, the "Eddy's blinking warthog challenge" was fun. Also today's ride was something of a first for me, a dual sport ride where me or my bike didn't spontaneously fall over.

5 Riders today. 4 Thumpers and 1 GS. The logging trucks have screwed up the trails and flattened them out a bit but still a fun place to ride and not far from home (20 miles for me).

Yeah that was fun.. Some pretty cool gravel and dirt roads out there. We rode a little of everything from Interstates to mud holes. Thanks to Chuck I was cool the whole way back - wearing the contents of a giant puddle really kinda nice. Maybe all those pigs are on to something.
I was sure you guys were gonna turn around at 106.. I knew you (Jeremy) saw it. So I waited there for you to catch and turn Blinky The Warthog around. few min later, realized yall were not coming back so I went on home. 106, to Charles City rd, to longbridge to Rt 5 to 295 to 10. Home by 12:30 or so. |

I had a great time riding that area with my friend Scott today. We bounced around by the plantations for and hour or so and had a hilarious encounter with a dog and a lady in muumuu trying to direct traffic. She only managed to make getting past the Australian Tire Biter almost impossible. After that we continued on the Five and Dime. Had an enjoyable ride on the ferry and a great ride back to Richmond. I showed him some the historical sights around the city (St Peters, Chimborazo, etc.) before heading to Legends for the best view of Richmond you can get and a good lunch. After that we rode around in the neighborhoods west of Carytown seeing how the other half lives and checking out Agecroft Hall, Virginia House, and so on.
I think that rental GS is going to very expensive for him. He fell in love.. Only took one pic today..

Todays Ride
Todays ride was the best so far. I wish I could post all the videos because they are all hilarious to watch. On one run Eddy took the camera while Dan and I fought it out in the water puddles. Talk about getting wet!!! Well, in this video I'm filming Eddy and then Dan for a full run on the CC14. I think we passed John somewhere along the way. The logging equipment was active today but there were no logging trucks. I think they were just working on some of the heavy equipment. What used to be a scary ride is now a walk in the park for most of us that have been going to the mud run. I guess its time to move on and find a new place and a new challenge. Thanks John, Dan, Jeremy and Eddy. I had a great day. skychs screwed with this post 06-23-2012 at 06:06 PM |
