Yeah, got you added.

My ADV Sticker is still missing, so wG.net still has some work to do...

My suggestion: don't play it until you get the M62-T2 gun on it. At that point it's worth it. Up to that point it's weaker armor and questionable gun was giving me fits.

It's rival, the M103, seemed much more effective with it's next to last gun. The IS-8 made me spend the gold to convert the credits to get the biggest gun... first tank ever to make me do that. The plus side is that this then also researches the biggest gun for the IS-4, so it didn't seem that bad of a deal.

There again, I could have been using it wrong. I have since adopted the theory that the IS-8 is, to me and to the game, in reality a medium tank (speed, but weaker armor). Play it as such and it can really help the team.

Had I been playing it like that, instead of like a tier 9 heavy, I may have been able to make better use of the BL-9 gun since I'd be taking territory the the opposing mediums would be at... which are much nicer to shoot at. At the time, though, it was a new to the game tank and people just considered it another heavy, and expected it to take the normal heavy lines at the normal heavy speed. The guys in the clan I joined gave up on it, but then expected me to treat it like it was a normal heavily-armored tier 9 (all the while telling me to just sell it). Screw that.

Maybe I should have finished researching the modules for the T-54 before getting the IS-8.... tedious grind continues..

Got my stickers back - had to follow directions sent in response to my support ticket, quoted below. Let me know if you're still missing them after going through this process.

Quote:
Dear Player,

Thank you for contacting World of Tanks and for your patience regarding this issue.

Please follow these instructions in order to get your clan emblem showing on your tanks again.

***While performing these operations, please make sure your World Of Tanks client is not running***

1) Please Browse to "C:\Games\World_of_Tanks\res\scripts\client\account _helpers" without the quotes.

2) Make a backup of the file: CustomFilesCache.pyc

3)Please download the CustomFilesCache.rar file in the following link:

http://forum.worldoftanks.ru/index.p...tach_id=148470

4) Unzip the CustomFilesCache.rar to "C:\Games\World_of_Tanks\res\scripts\client\account _helpers" without the quotes.

5) Next we would like you to please clear the custom data cache of the game client.

To perform this operation, please do the following:

Launch and run the file given below:
http://downloads.worldoftanks.ru/sup...m_data_rem.zip
(after you launch it, the file will automatically delete the necessary files)

6) Launch the game client, information after that should be updated.

Please let us know if your issue persists.

If any clan members also cannot see the clan emblems, please have them follow these instructions or ask them to submit a ticket for support and we will be more than happy to aid them in this process.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Best Regards,
Cristina Smith

So.. i have an itch. To spend some gold on a premium tank. Why? Cause I'm dumb. Plus I'd like to get some higher tired tanks to platoon with yall a bit sooner as i do my normal grind. It's a toss up between the T34, KV-5 or IS-6. Sway me.

Gosh, you gotta really define what you enjoy in the game I'd think - there is that much of a difference between making the KV-5 effective and the T-34.

I really don't know anything about the IS-6 aside from what people keep saying based on its stats... and I've found it best to ignore most players' opinions in the game.

I bought the KV-5 because I already had the T-34. I wouldn't have bought the KV-5 as a first tier 8 premium... but now I'm not so sure it would have been a bad choice as a first.

A quirk that hits me is that if you're one to platoon a lot with other like-tiers, then platooning with tier-8's that aren't KV-5's seems to cancel out the slightly better Match-Maker slotting the KV-5 gets on its own.

There are other considerations, too... but I guess a major one is just that which country's heavies do you want the ability to cross-train in the tier-8?

And there are a bunch of really good players in this crew......I continue to be impressed by the skill level in this group. Anytime any of you come through Detroit, there is a cold beer (or three) and a soft bed waiting for you because teaming with you guys makes this game worth playing.

I just enjoy the game as a whole. I ended up getting the T34. Im so used to TD play style but its nice to learn a different way.

The T-34 is a good tank. Don't be afraid to switch up using AP and HE more with it than you do other tanks - the gun is big enough that HE is sometimes the best bet when AP just won't pen... like on the top of turrets and such. This works well, after a while, against other T34's, T32's and T29's that you can only see the turret of.
