A nice Jawa in San Francisco, http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-sidecar-...sories&vxp=mtr

and a Velorex in Sonoma, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-O...item3a76149702

Either would be nice on an old Beemer.

By the way not mine and I don't know nothing about either one except what you see.

I wonder how good that little Versys is at pulling the heavy Ural chair. I guess it can't be any worse than a Ural

That lower one is just a 560 that lost all it's trim.
They are both Velorexes. But the upper still has its Jawa badge.
Super light tubs, well made, if not abused with a heavy bike they hold up OK.

'86 Goldwing Aspencade w/chair in VT

First off, this is a somewhat high miles bike at right around 96,000 on the clock. It was purchased brand-new by the first owner, who stuck every possible option on it, and died while owning it. It is a Persian Whorehouse. It has been immaculately maintained, but is of college age. It is equipped with a Gen 1 Freedom chair, which rides very well. The Whorehouse was purchased /traded into by the second owner, a professional electrician, who re-wired the connection to the chair and replaced all of the 72 marker lights with LED bulbs. The electrical demand is now within what the stator can provide.

The good:

Basically a one-owner bike, immaculately maintained. It's all there. Footboards, custom seat, custom lights, steering stabilizer, pin striped, and all is clean, clean and more clean. This bike has been washed more than I wash my underwear.Anecdotal evidence shows a trans replacement and a possible fresh motor at some point. I cannot document the motor or the trans, but the bike pulls strong and seems healthy. CB, radio, and cassette deck with original Honda intercom.

The chair has all the options. The cover is all there, side curtains good, one snap missing from the top.

New tires all around, Dunlops on the tug.

I'll throw in a good LED light for the chair light from inmate Sanjoh.

The bad: The rear strut mount was Gen 1, which hooked into the rear case mount. It failed. The proper way to to the rear mount is into the frame. Inmate Jackpiner57 is ready to weld the rear strut properly, and he's nearby.

The clutch chatters, because the bike sat. It may work out through riding, or it may need a new clutch. The compressor works, but the shocks are in need of a rebuild. They are too soft for hard service.

Good bike. $4250 all up. You could part it out for twice, that, but I'd hope not.

Looks like a grey market/domestic Russian 70s or 80s model titled as a 2004. Hard to guess at what really lurks inside, so the price is probably fair at best.

I would be willing to split this outfit up. For the chair (the part that appears to interest most people) all the hardware, GL1200 subframe, steering stabilizer, top cover and all associated parts, links, bits and gubbins, plus a brand-new LED light for the front of the chair would be happily included. The chair has a near new tire and is in very nice to excellent condition. $2000 takes it. I have arrived at the point where I will part the tug out and get three times my money over a straight sale.

It's mine. Nata Harli had it posted with a much more elegant ad last year for $6500 and I bought it from him on a ride-and-fly (He rode it out and flew home). I've put 2000 miles and $1000 in service (just had valves, oil, brakes done approximately 25 miles ago). You won't find a better alternative to a Ural. I'll even pick folks up from the El Paso airport. I just had the rock-hard Corbin re-covered and re-foamed by a local upholstery shop. It makes my butt happy.

The reality is this...

It's going to be a year before I can get back on her.

It's not really an alternative to a Ural, unless by Ural one means "any sidecar rig." But it's a very nice outfit. I gave you a plug in the flea market which will probably soon get pulled by admins
